About This Job

The Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), Nagpur has extended the last date to apply for the Mechanical Foreman Recruitment 2026 (3 vacancies on deputation/short-term contract basis). The new last date for submission of offline applications is July 8, 2026 (within 60 days from the publication date in Employment News). Selected candidates will be placed at Pay Level-6 (Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400) under the 7th CPC, plus allowances. Applications must be submitted through proper channel to: Head of Office, Indian Bureau of Mines, Indira Bhavan, Civil Lines, Nagpur – 440001. Vacancy count remains 3 posts.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out and assist the Junior/Senior Mechanical Engineer in installation, fabrication, repairs, and maintenance of various machinery and equipment
  • Maintain and operate equipment at the Ore-Dressing Laboratory and Pilot Plant
  • Supervise subordinate staff in day-to-day maintenance and repair activities
  • Ensure safe and timely commissioning of mechanical equipment as directed
  • Monitor the condition of machinery and report breakdowns or abnormalities to the engineer in charge
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and service logs for all assigned equipment
  • Follow all safety protocols and government regulations applicable to mining and laboratory environments

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university or institution

You need a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering plus 5 years of experience in mechanical repairs, maintenance, installation and commissioning. Additionally, you must be holding an analogous post on regular basis OR have 6 years' service in Level-5 OR 10 years' service in Level-4.
The post carries Level-6 pay in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with a pay range of Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month, plus admissible Central Government allowances such as HRA, DA, and TA.
You need to fill the Bio-Data/CV Proforma (Annexure-I) in triplicate and send it through your proper channel (Controlling Authority) along with ACRs for the preceding 5 years, Integrity Certificate, Vigilance Clearance, and No Penalty Certificate for the preceding 10 years. The maximum age limit is 56 years as on the closing date of application (18 May 2026). This is the standard DoPT norm for deputation appointments.
