Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India has 3 vacancies for the post of Mechanical Foreman on deputation (including short-term contract) basis. The pay is in Level-6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Rs. 35,400–1,12,400). If you are a serving government officer with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical repairs and maintenance, your application must reach Nagpur by 18 May 2026.
IBM Mechanical Foreman Recruitment 2026 — 3 Posts
The Indian Bureau of Mines, headquartered at Indira Bhavan, Civil Lines, Nagpur, is a premier technical organisation under the Ministry of Mines that regulates mining operations and promotes sustainable mineral development in India. These 3 posts of Mechanical Foreman are being filled on deputation to support operations at IBM's Ore-Dressing Laboratory and Pilot Plant. The recruitment is notified vide Circular No. A-32015/1/2025-Rectt. dated 20 March 2026.

Who Can Apply?
You must be an officer working in the Central Government, State Government, Union Territory, autonomous or statutory organisation, public sector undertaking, recognised university, or recognised research institution. Both service and educational conditions must be met.
Service Condition (any one of the following)
- Holding an analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
- 6 years of regular service in Level-5 pay matrix (Rs. 29,200–92,300) or equivalent; OR
- 10 years of regular service in Level-4 pay matrix (Rs. 25,500–81,100) or equivalent
Educational and Experience Condition (mandatory)
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university or institution
- 5 years of experience in mechanical repairs, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of equipment
Note: Departmental officers in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for deputation. Officers already on deputation must apply through their parent cadre with Cadre Clearance, Vigilance Clearance, and Integrity Certificate.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 56 years as on the last date of receipt of applications
- No upper age relaxation beyond 56 years for deputation posts as per DoPT norms
Salary
- Pay Level: Level-6 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix
- Pay Range: Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400 per month
- Plus admissible allowances such as HRA, TA, DA as per Central Government rules

Selection Process
- Scrutiny of Bio-Data: Applications (in triplicate) are screened for eligibility against service records and Confidential Reports (ACRs) for the preceding 5 years
- Vigilance and Integrity Check: Vigilance Clearance, Integrity Certificate, and No Penalty Certificate for the preceding 10 years are verified
- Selection Committee Review: A committee reviews the bio-data and supporting documents to finalise the deputation

Responsibilities
- Carry out and assist the Junior/Senior Mechanical Engineer in installation, fabrication, repairs, and maintenance of various machinery and equipment
- Maintain and operate equipment at the Ore-Dressing Laboratory and Pilot Plant
- Supervise subordinate staff in day-to-day maintenance and repair activities
- Ensure safe and timely commissioning of mechanical equipment as directed
- Monitor the condition of machinery and report breakdowns or abnormalities to the engineer in charge
- Keep accurate maintenance records and service logs for all assigned equipment
- Follow all safety protocols and government regulations applicable to mining and laboratory environments

Minimum Qualification
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university or institution
Required Skills
Mechanical repairs, maintenance, installation and commissioning of equipment

18 - 56 years (as on 18 May 2026)
