IBM Law Officer Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

Indian Bureau of Mines, a subordinate office under the Ministry of Mines, released this circular for 3 Law Officer contract positions. The engagement is initially for 3 years and may be extended by up to 1 more year based on performance and office need. This is a contract role, so it does not give any right to regular appointment in IBM.

This role is meant for lawyers who can support government legal work, especially civil matters, arbitration, labour law, company law, and court case follow-up. Who Can Apply?

• Education: Full-time 3-year LLB or 5-year integrated LLB with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from a Bar Council of India recognized institute, college, or university.
• Registration: You must be registered as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India or a State Bar Council under the Advocates Act, 1961.
• Court practice: You need at least 3 years of practice as an advocate before any court of law in India.
• Legal work experience: You also need at least 2 years as a legal professional with a PSU, government department, or large private organization after completing LLB.
• Computer knowledge: IBM specifically asks for working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preference may be given if you have worked in the Supreme Court or High Court on matters connected with mines and minerals, or if you have legal department experience in a mining PSU, government department, or large private company.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: Not more than 40 years.
• Age reference: The application form asks for age on the closing date of advertisement, which is treated here as 30 April 2026.

Salary

• Monthly salary: Consolidated salary of Rs. 70,000 per month.
• Deductions: Mandatory deductions will apply as per law, including tax deducted at source where applicable.
• No extra allowances: IBM states that DA, HRA, CGHS, medical reimbursement, transport facility, pension, and gratuity are not admissible.
• Leave: You can get 12 days of leave in a calendar year on a pro-rata basis.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting: IBM will shortlist applications based on the qualification and experience conditions listed in the circular.
2. Personal interview: Shortlisted candidates will be selected by the competent authority through a personal interview before a selection committee.
3. No TA or DA: IBM clearly states that no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
