Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB) has released Advertisement No. 441/202627 for 100 Multi Purpose Health Worker (Male), Class-3 posts under the Additional Director (Public Health), Gandhinagar, in the Health and Family Welfare Department. GSSSB has extended the application window after receiving requests from candidates — the original window (17 to 31 July 2026) is now replaced by a fresh window running 1 to 15 August 2026, with the exam fee payable till 18 August 2026. This is a male-only post — women candidates are not eligible to apply for this particular recruitment.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You need a 1-year Multi-Purpose Health Worker basic certificate/diploma course, OR a 1-year Sanitary Inspector Diploma Course, OR a 1-year Health Sanitary Inspector certificate course from an ITI, OR a Sanitary Inspector/Health Sanitary Inspector diploma from a recognized university — all from institutions recognized by the Government.
- Computer Knowledge: You must have basic computer knowledge as prescribed under the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment Rules, 1967 (a training certificate, computer diploma/degree, or a Std. 10/12 computer-subject pass certificate works).
- Language: You should know Gujarati or Hindi, or both.
- Gender: This post is open to male candidates only — female candidates cannot apply.
- Citizenship: You must be an Indian citizen, or hold nationality as per the Gujarat Civil Services (General) Rules, 1967.
Category-wise Vacancies (Out of 100 Total)
- Unreserved (General): 58 posts
- SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Class): 22 posts
- EWS (Economically Weaker Section): 10 posts
- ST (Scheduled Tribe): 6 posts
- SC (Scheduled Caste): 4 posts
Reserved category seats are open only to candidates with original Gujarat domicile. PwBD candidates with benchmark disabilities of 40-70% (low vision, one/both arm or leg, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, acid attack victims, spinal deformity/injury, intellectual disability, mental illness, or multiple disabilities) can apply against unreserved posts, even though no seats are separately reserved for them in this notice.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 33 years old as on 31 July 2026.
- Age Relaxation: Reserved category male candidates get 5 years relaxation (up to 38 years). General category male candidates with disabilities get 10 years (up to 43 years). Reserved category male candidates with disabilities get 15 years (up to 45 years).
- Ex-Servicemen: Get relaxation equal to their years of service plus 3 additional years.
Salary
- You will get a fixed pay of Rs. 26,000 per month during your first 5 years (probation period).
- After 5 years of satisfactory service, you will move to the regular pay scale of Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month under Level-2 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, plus other allowances as per government rules.
- This is subject to the outcome of SLP No. 14124/2012 and SLP No. 14125/2012 pending before the Supreme Court.

Selection Process
The selection will be done in 2 stages:
- Written Exam (MCQ, CBRT/OMR-based): A single objective exam with 270 questions for 270 marks in 3 hours. Part-A has 90 questions (90 marks) covering Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30), Quantitative Aptitude (30), and Indian Constitution/Current Affairs/Gujarati & English Comprehension (30). Part-B has 180 questions (180 marks) on subject knowledge related to the Health Worker post. You need a minimum of 40% marks in both Part-A and Part-B to qualify. Wrong answers carry a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates (based on merit and category-wise vacancies) will need to get their certificates checked.
The written exam is tentatively scheduled for November 2026.

Responsibilities
- Conduct door-to-door health surveys and maintain family health records in the assigned area
- Support immunization drives and family planning programs at the Primary Health Centre
- Carry out disease surveillance and help control the spread of communicable diseases like malaria and TB
- Educate villagers and families about hygiene, sanitation and preventive healthcare
- Assist ANMs and doctors during health camps and outreach programs
- Maintain records of births, deaths and vaccinations in the assigned sub-centre
- Report health data to the Primary Health Centre and follow up on referred cases
