Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 33 years old as on 15 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: General-category women get 5 years (up to 40 years); reserved-category men get 5 years (up to 40 years); reserved-category women get 10 years (up to 45 years).
• Candidates with a disability get further relaxation — general-category disabled men get 10 years, general-category disabled women get 15 years, reserved-category disabled men get 15 years, and reserved-category disabled women get 20 years (all capped at a maximum of 45 years).
• Ex-servicemen get relaxation equal to their years of service plus 3 more years.

Salary

• For the first 5 years, you get a fixed pay of Rs. 49,600 per month.
• After 5 years of satisfactory service, you move to the regular 7th Pay Commission Level-7 scale of Rs. 39,900 to Rs. 1,26,600 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules once you are on the regular scale.

• Unreserved category: Rs. 500
• Women (all categories), SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD and Ex-servicemen: Rs. 400
• The fee is refunded to candidates who appear for the exam.

Selection Process

Selection happens in two steps:

1. Written Exam (CBRT/OMR based MCQ): One question paper with 210 questions for 210 marks, split into Part A (90 marks — Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Indian Constitution, Current Affairs, and Gujarati/English Comprehension) and Part B (120 marks — Electrical Engineering subject questions). You get 3 hours for both parts combined.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are called to verify their diploma, age and category certificates before the final merit list is prepared.

There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer, and you need at least 40% marks in both Part A and Part B to qualify. GSSSB will first publish a provisional answer key and accept objections before releasing the final answer key and the provisional result.

3. Open the advertisement list and select Advt. 453/202627 (Additional Assistant Engineer - Electrical).
4. Fill in your Personal Details and then your Educational Details in the online form.
5. Accept the declaration and save the application to generate your application number.
6. Upload your photo and signature in the specified size and format.
7. Pay the application fee online and confirm your application — details cannot be changed after confirmation.
8. Print the confirmed application form and keep it safe for your records.
