JAU SRF and Research Associate Recruitment 2026: Overview

Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU) is holding a walk-in interview at its Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Junagadh to fill one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and one Research Associate (RA) post. Both are temporary, contract positions funded by two running research schemes, and they last only as long as those schemes do. Nothing is posted or emailed in advance: you bring the form and your documents on the interview day itself. Fresh M.Sc. holders in agronomy or soil science and Ph.D. holders in agricultural meteorology are the people this call is aimed at.

Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Research Fellow (Agronomy / Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science): works under the All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Integrated Farming System (B.H. 2040), which studies how crops, livestock and other farm parts can be combined for better farm income.
• Research Associate (Agricultural Meteorology / Agronomy / Meteorology / Agricultural Physics): works under Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa (GKMS), AMFU-Junagadh (BH: 18005-01), the weather-based farm advisory service. Experience in crop weather modelling and weather data analysis is a plus.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Purely contractual: The job is on a fixed monthly pay and lasts only for the scheme period. Both schemes currently run up to 31 March 2027.
• No permanent claim: Being selected does not make you a university employee, and you cannot claim the rights of regular staff later.
• Release without notice: The appointing authority can end the engagement when the scheme ends or at any time without notice or compensation.
• Pay revision for SRF: The SRF fellowship goes up in the third year, and the RA pay follows the ICAR guidelines.
• Age relaxation: Reserved-category and women candidates get upper age relaxation as per government rules.
• Travel cost: You attend the interview at your own expense.

Download the prescribed application form from www.jau.in, fill it in, and hand it over with your documents between 8:00 and 9:00 am on the interview day at the Department of Agronomy, JAU, Junagadh. The interview starts at 9:30 am, and no form is accepted after the 9:00 am cut-off.
