IGKV Saja Guest Teacher Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Chhattisgarh's state agricultural university, is looking for Guest Teachers / Part Time Teachers at its Kumari Devi Choubey College of Agriculture and Research Station, Saja in Bemetara district. The college needs teachers for its B.Sc. Ag. (Hons.) degree students during the 2026-27 academic session, filling two Assistant Professor seats that are lying vacant until regular faculty join.

The engagement is purely temporary and paid as an honorarium under the university's guest-teacher rules, not a regular faculty job. It suits you if you hold a master's or Ph.D. in an agriculture discipline and want hands-on college teaching experience. One unusual point: you apply by email, but the interview itself is held at the College of Agriculture, Raipur, not at Saja.

Posts and Disciplines

• Genetics and Plant Breeding: guest teaching for the plant breeding and genetics courses in the B.Sc. Ag. (Hons.) programme at KDC CARS Saja.
• Plant Pathology: guest teaching for the plant disease and pathology courses at the same college.

Both disciplines share the same qualification rule: a master's in the relevant agriculture subject with good marks, plus NET and one NAAS-rated publication — NET is waived only if your Ph.D. was done with UGC 2009 course work and you have at least two full-length papers with a NAAS rating of 4 or more.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Session-bound: The engagement lasts one academic session or until a regular teacher joins, whichever comes first. It gives you no claim to any regular IGKV post.
• Fallback for PG candidates: If no eligible candidate turns up, post-graduates may be engaged as part-time teachers on a period basis for one semester, with the competent authority's approval.
• Performance clause: Your services can be ended with one week's notice if performance is unsatisfactory, and false credentials lead to removal.
• Original documents: Without your original documents on interview day, you will not be allowed to appear.
• Affidavit: Selected candidates sign an affidavit on Rs. 50 stamp paper accepting the university's terms.
• No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview, and canvassing in any form leads to disqualification.
• Age relaxation: The five-year relaxation for SC, ST, OBC and women candidates follows Chhattisgarh Government rules.

Fill in the prescribed application form attached to the advertisement and email it with a self-attested photograph and copies of your certificates, experience and publications to cars.saja@igkv.ac.in. The email must go out by 11:59 PM on the last date; incomplete forms are rejected.

The interview is on 27 October 2026 from 11:00 AM at the College of Agriculture, Raipur. Mention the discipline and the advertisement number on the form.
