  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 10 posts
  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 7 posts

Within these 100 posts, 30 are reserved for women (13 General, 8 SEBC, 4 ST, 3 EWS, 2 SC), 4 posts are reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities, and 10 posts carry horizontal reservation for ex-servicemen.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 33 years old as on 17 August 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: General category women get 5 years (up to 40 years); reserved category men get 5 years (up to 40 years); reserved category women get 10 years (up to 45 years).
  • PwBD Candidates: General category PwBD men get 10 years relaxation and PwBD women get 15 years (both up to 45 years); reserved category PwBD men get 15 years and PwBD women get 20 years (up to 45 years).
  • Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation equal to the length of service rendered, plus 3 years.
  • Candidates already in Gujarat Government service can get upper age relaxation as per the Gujarat Civil Services Rules, 1967.

Salary

  • You will get a fixed pay of Rs. 26,000 per month for the first 5 years of service.
  • After 5 years of satisfactory service, you will be placed on the regular 7th Pay Commission Level-4 pay scale, starting at Rs. 52,200 per month, plus other allowances.
  • You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules once you are regularized.

  • Women (all categories), SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 400

Selection Process

GSSSB will select candidates through a single written exam:

  1. Written Exam (CBRT/OMR): A total of 210 questions for 210 marks, in two parts, over 3 hours.
  2. Document Verification: Category-wise, candidates who clear the minimum qualifying marks in both parts are called for verification of certificates.
  3. Final Merit List: Prepared using your exam marks after document verification.

You need to score at least 40% in Part-A and 40% in Part-B to qualify. There is a negative marking of 1/4 mark for every wrong answer.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing horticulture development schemes in the assigned area
  • Guide farmers on nursery management, plant protection and modern horticulture techniques
  • Inspect fruit, vegetable and flower crops for pest and disease management
  • Maintain records of horticulture schemes, subsidies and farmer beneficiaries
  • Prepare field reports and submit them to the Horticulture Officer
  • Organize training programs and demonstrations for farmers on horticulture practices
  • Support soil testing, irrigation planning and post-harvest management activities
  • Coordinate with district-level agriculture and cooperation offices for scheme implementation
