DHSGSU JRF Environmental Sciences Recruitment 2026: Overview

Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya (DHSGSU), a Central University in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, is hiring one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for an ANRF-funded research project in its Department of Environmental Sciences. The three-year project, led by Dr. Amit Kumar, studies the link between atmospheric particulate exposure and respiratory disease in communities around the industrial zone of the Bundelkhand region. It's a good opportunity for science postgraduates who have cleared NET or GATE and want hands-on environmental research experience.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: The JRF position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project — it ends when the three-year project concludes.
  • Interview mode: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, which may be held online or offline.

  • No TA/DA: The university does not pay any travel allowance for attending the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyse air quality and particulate-matter samples from the study sites around Bundelkhand's industrial zone
  • Support field surveys and health data collection in communities exposed to atmospheric pollutants
  • Maintain accurate lab records, sample logs and research data sheets
  • Assist the Principal Investigator in preparing progress reports and research findings
  • Review scientific literature related to air pollution and respiratory health
  • Help prepare manuscripts and presentations from the project's research outcomes

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

M.Sc./M.Tech in Environmental Sciences, Microbiology, Chemistry, Botany, Physics, Geology, or Environmental Engineering with 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university/institute as per UGC norms

Preferred Qualification

Prior experience in relevant research work

Required Skills

Must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET / GATE or an equivalent examination as per ANRF guidelines

Age Limit

18 - 30 years
