IIFM Data Analytics and Statistical Modelling Expert Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, is hiring a Data Analytics & Statistical Modelling Expert on contract. The post sits inside the project "TEEBAgriFood Activities in Assam", which studies the links between farming, food systems, nature and the economy in the state. You will be the person who turns the project's survey, field and socio-economic data into clear evidence and policy insights.

This is a walk-in interview, so there is no online form. It suits a postgraduate in statistics, economics, data science, forestry, agriculture or a related subject who already has hands-on experience analysing real-world datasets. Knowledge of InVEST and SWAT modelling gives you an edge, because the project deals with ecosystem services and land and water data.

You will work under the project's Team Leader at IIFM Bhopal and alongside the TEEBAgriFood field team. The job mixes quantitative work (regression, multivariate analysis, sampling, modelling) with qualitative work such as coding interviews and focus group discussions. Tools named in the notice include R, Python, SPSS, STATA and Excel. Expect to build charts and dashboards, write technical notes and help with policy briefs and publications.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project post only: This is a project-linked contractual position with no connection to IIFM's permanent staff. You cannot claim a regular IIFM job on the basis of this engagement.
• Tenure: The contract runs for one year from joining and may be extended depending on your performance and the project's needs.
• Field travel: You may have to travel in Assam and nearby regions, including remote places with difficult terrain and bad weather.
• Travel costs: No TA/DA is paid for coming to the interview. TA/DA for approved project field visits is paid as per the applicable norms, and no other allowances are given.
• Immediate joining: The selected person is expected to join right after selection.
• Canvassing: Any form of canvassing leads to disqualification, and the Director, IIFM can reject an application that is incomplete.
