AIIMS Jodhpur Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur has invited applications for 1 Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) post under the ICMR-funded project "Establishment of an Advanced Robotics Laboratory for Robot-Assisted Minimally Invasive Multiport Skull Base Surgeries" — a collaboration between AIIMS Jodhpur and IIT Jodhpur, led by Prof. Deepak Kumar Jha, Professor & Head, Department of Neurosurgery. This is a temporary, project-based position for an initial tenure of six months, co-terminus with the project. The project aims to build a robotics laboratory that supports robot-assisted, minimally invasive surgery for complex skull base conditions — a field where engineering precision directly improves patient outcomes by reducing surgical risk. Engineers and researchers with a background in robotics, mechanical/biomedical engineering, or AI who want hands-on experience applying their technical skills to real clinical problems should apply.

Important terms: This position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project — you will have no right to claim permanent employment at AIIMS Jodhpur or continuation of your services in any other project. The number of posts may increase or decrease as per project requirements at the sole discretion of the Principal Investigator, and canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (Option 1): First Class Postgraduate Degree (M.E./M.Tech/MS) in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, AI, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, with 3 years of relevant research/industrial experience.
• Qualification (Option 2): Ph.D. in Robotics, Medical Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• All degrees must be from a recognized Board/University.
• Experience must be acquired after obtaining your minimum required educational qualification — prior experience gained before completing your degree will not be counted.
• Your age, educational qualification, and experience will all be assessed as on the last date of the advertisement.
• Even without prior clinical exposure, a strong engineering background in robotics or mechatronics is valuable — you will work alongside surgeons who bring the clinical expertise.
• All essential qualification and experience certificates must be enclosed with your application — incomplete applications without supporting proof will not be considered.

Salary

• The selected candidate will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 67,000 per month plus HRA as admissible.
• This is a consolidated sum based on your experience, qualifications, and skill set — no other benefits apply.
• No TA/DA is paid for travelling to the interview, and the position carries no other salary components beyond the consolidated pay and HRA.

Selection Process

Selection will mainly be through a walk-in interview:

1. Written Exam (Conditional): Held only if a large number of eligible applications are received.
2. Walk-in Interview: On 12 August 2026, with reporting time starting at 12:30 PM and the reporting window closing at 1:30 PM the same day, at the Department of Neurosurgery, AIIMS, Jodhpur.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, and candidates working in government or PSU roles must bring a No Objection Certificate. The interview panel, led by the Principal Investigator, will assess your technical knowledge, prior project experience, and your fit for a hands-on robotics laboratory role.
