ECHS Ajmer Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), run under the Ministry of Defence, is filling medical and paramedical posts through its ECHS Cell at Station Headquarters, Ajmer. The openings are for the ECHS Polyclinics at Ajmer and Bhilwara, which treat retired armed forces personnel and their families. These are contractual engagements, not permanent government posts — ex-servicemen get preference, but civilian doctors, pharmacists and technicians can apply too.

The drive covers one leadership role, one doctor post and three paramedical roles. If you are a retired service medic or a civilian health professional in the Ajmer–Bhilwara region, this is a chance to work close to home with a steady monthly salary.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Officer-in-Charge (Ajmer): heads the polyclinic and handles its administration. This post is fully reserved for ex-servicemen.
  • Medical Officer (Ajmer): the general duty doctor post for MBBS holders; extra qualifications in Medicine or Surgery are preferred. 60% of the posts are reserved for ex-servicemen.
  • Lab Technician (Bhilwara): for medical lab technology graduates or diploma holders with lab assistant experience. 70% reserved for ex-servicemen.
  • Pharmacist (Bhilwara): for B.Pharm or D.Pharm holders registered under the Pharmacy Act, 1948. 70% reserved for ex-servicemen.
  • Dental Hygienist (Bhilwara): for diploma holders, including those with the Armed Forces Class-I DH/DORA course. 70% reserved for ex-servicemen.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Contract length: Ex-servicemen are engaged for one year, while civilian candidates get an 11-month contract.
  • On-the-job training: The selected Officer-in-Charge and Medical Officer must finish 10 days of on-the-job training and get a certificate from the Officer-in-Charge Polyclinics before signing the contract.
  • Interview call: Interviews are tentatively planned for November 2026; the exact date will come to you by mobile, SMS, phone or email, so keep your contact details active.
  • Travel costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
  • Who should apply: Only candidates who fully meet the qualitative requirements of their post should apply.

Application Submission Notes
