AIIMS Guwahati Project Posts Recruitment 2026: Overview
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati is building a three-role team in its Department of Biochemistry for TERIIP Phase II. This multicentre observational study is establishing reference intervals for India's child and adolescent population, bringing clinical, laboratory and nursing work into one research unit. The roles are funded through the project and are offered on a contractual basis under the principal investigator, Dr Indrajit Nath. The work focuses on participants below 18 years, so the notice gives particular value to medical research, accredited-laboratory and paediatric blood-collection experience.
Posts and Disciplines
- Project Research Scientist-I (Medical): the medical research role is suited to an MBBS or BDS graduate who can support clinical interpretation and study coordination. A relevant postgraduate qualification and experience on a Government of India-funded research project are desirable.
- Project Technical Support-I: this is the laboratory-support role for candidates with medical laboratory training and relevant work experience. Experience in a NABL-accredited biochemistry or haematology laboratory is preferred.
- Project Nurse-I: the nursing role supports participant-facing study activity. The notice particularly values experience collecting blood from neonates and children.
Post-wise Duties
Project Research Scientist-I (Medical)
You will help the principal investigator run the medical and research side of the TERIIP study, keep clinical information organised and support the study team's interpretation and reporting work. Your medical background will also help the team handle participant-related questions within the approved study process.
Project Technical Support-I
You will support biochemistry and haematology laboratory activity, handle samples carefully and keep laboratory records ready for the multicentre study. The role calls for consistent work practices because reference-interval research depends on dependable sample handling and clean records.
Project Nurse-I
You will support child and adolescent participant care, assist with blood collection and help the team maintain clear nursing and sample records. Experience with neonatal or paediatric collection will be especially useful in this study setting.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure: each appointment starts for one year and may be extended on performance up to the end of the project, which is sanctioned for as long as three years. Extension is not automatic.
- Project status: these are full-time extramural-project roles and do not create a right to regular appointment or permanent absorption at AIIMS Guwahati.
- Outside work: the selected person cannot hold another job at the same time during this full-time assignment.
- Early termination: either side may end the contract with 30 days' notice or salary instead of notice.
- Accommodation and travel: the institute will not provide hostel accommodation or pay TA or DA for attending the test, interview or joining.
- Shortlisting: the department may use the desirable criteria when applications are numerous, and it may hold a written test before the offline interview. Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call.
- Updates: shortlisted names, interview information and results will appear on the AIIMS Guwahati website; individual updates will not be sent to every applicant.
