IASST Project Assistant-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati, an autonomous body of the Department of Science and Technology, needs a Project Assistant I for a plant-disease research project at its Garchuk campus in Assam. The post is funded under the DBT Ramalingaswami Re-entry scheme, which supports scientists returning to India to run their own research groups.

The project is trying to understand how Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus, a bacterium that infects citrus trees, causes damage, and to build disease control strategies for growers. You will spend most of your time in the lab running experiments and handling data for the team. Hiring is through a walk-in interview, and the post is contractual and linked to the project.
