ICAR-NRCP Young Professional-II Recruitment 2026: Overview

ICAR-National Research Centre on Pig (ICAR-NRCP), a research centre of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at Rani, Guwahati (Assam), is holding a walk-in interview for a Young Professional-II (YP-II). The post supports the centre's AICRP Rani Unit project and is a temporary, contract-based engagement that lasts only as long as the scheme.

Unlike most ICAR project jobs, this one is built for commerce and finance graduates, not science graduates. The notice looks for a commerce background backed by professional finance training, so it suits people who already have some finance or accounts work experience and want a foothold in an ICAR research setting.

The role is not a desk-only job. The YP-II has to travel extensively, back up the Principal Investigator in the project's routine work, and coordinate with entrepreneurs linked to the scheme.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Not a regular post: The engagement is time-bound and not against any sanctioned post, so reservation rules for regular posts do not apply and the service does not count for seniority.
• No claim to absorption: You get no right to regular appointment or absorption in ICAR later.
• Tenure: The post runs until the scheme ends or as needed, whichever is earlier; it can be shortened or extended based on your performance.
• Termination: Unsatisfactory work or indiscipline can end the contract at any time, and the Director may terminate it before the project ends without appeal.
• Headquarters and tours: You are based at ICAR-NRCP, Rani, Guwahati, but you may be sent on tours anywhere in India to collect project data.
• Leaving early: You must give one month's notice; otherwise you have to deposit one month's salary with the centre.
• No extra benefits: ICAR does not pay pension, leave salary, provident fund, ESI or medical insurance contributions for this post.
• Shortlisting: If many people turn up, the centre may first shortlist on academic record or a written test, and only shortlisted candidates face the panel interview.
• Relatives at ICAR-NRCP: Declare any relative working at the centre in the Annexure-II format before the interview.
• No TA/DA: Neither travel allowance nor accommodation is provided for the interview.
