Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) Consultant (MIS) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has invited applications for 1 Consultant (MIS) post to support its Green Credit Programme (GCP). The Green Credit Programme is a Government of India initiative, notified by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on 12 October 2023 under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, that encourages industries, companies, and other entities to take up voluntary environmental measures — mainly tree plantation — in exchange for Green Credits. ICFRE is the designated Administrator of the programme and is responsible for developing the web portal, guidelines, methodologies, standards, and data platform for GCP. The selected consultant will provide technical support for the design, development, and maintenance of the Green Credit Portal and its mobile application, including full-stack development, MIS, dashboards, and API integration. The engagement is purely contractual for an initial period of 1 year, extendable based on your performance.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.Tech/B.E./MCA or an equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Software Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognised university/institution.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in Full Stack Development and Web Application Development, along with experience in Mobile App Development (Android/iOS/Cross-platform) for enterprise or government applications.
• Also required: Experience in designing and developing Management Information Systems (MIS), dashboards, and reporting systems.
• Desirable: Experience in application testing, debugging, performance optimisation, and coordinating with technical stakeholders or software vendors for IT project implementation.
• Key responsibilities include: managing database administration, cloud-based services, application deployment, and ensuring data quality, accuracy, and security for the Green Credit Portal.

What the Consultant Will Work On

• Provide technical support in the design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of the Green Credit Portal.
• Design, develop, and maintain a dedicated mobile application for the Green Credit Programme, covering land parcel upload, eco-restoration monitoring, and progress updates.
• Analyse user requirements and prepare technical specifications for new features and system enhancements.
• Evaluate the portal and mobile application's performance, security, scalability, and user experience, and recommend improvements.
• Support system integration, data migration, and other new digital initiatives under the Green Credit Programme.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit for consultants is 65 years.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 50,000 per month, subject to TDS deduction as per Income Tax norms.
• Travel expenditure for project-related official work will be reimbursed as per Government of India/ICFRE norms.
• As a contractual consultant, you will not get perks like DA, HRA, or medical reimbursement that are admissible to regular ICFRE employees.

Terms of Engagement

• Your performance as a consultant will be reviewed on a monthly basis; the contract can be terminated for unsatisfactory performance by giving one month's prior notice.
• ICFRE will provide you with working space, a computer, and internet facility, along with the documents required to carry out your assignment.
• Since this is a purely contractual engagement, you will not have any claim to regular employment in ICFRE.
• All data, documents, reports, and papers generated during the assignment remain the sole property of ICFRE, and you must hand over both print and electronic copies before your contract ends.
• As a consultant, you are not permitted to publish books, articles, or participate in radio broadcasts related to your assignment, whether under your own name or anonymously, without authorisation.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

ICFRE will select the Consultant (MIS) in 2 stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on your educational qualification and proof of essential experience.
2. Hands-on Test and Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a hands-on technical test, followed by an interview with the Consultant Evaluation Committee (CEC).

Final selection is based on your combined performance in the hands-on test and interview.
