Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) has released Advt. No. 23/2026 for the post of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in Computer Science. This recruitment is for the School Education Department, Haryana. A total of 1,672 vacancies are available. If you have a degree in Computer Science or IT, this is a great chance to get a permanent government teaching job in Haryana.

Salary

Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 47,600 to Rs. 1,51,100 per month (Pay Level 8, 7th CPC). The 6th CPC equivalent Grade Pay is Rs. 4,800. You will also get DA, HRA, TA, and other allowances as per Haryana Government rules.

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)

Educational Qualification:

• M.Sc. Computer Science (2-year course), OR
• MCA (3-year course), OR
• B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / IT (Regular mode)

You need at least 55% marks in your qualifying degree (50% for SC/PwBD candidates). You must also have a valid HTET or STET certificate.

Hindi/Sanskrit: You must have studied Hindi or Sanskrit at Matriculation level or higher.

Age Limit:

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 42 years (as on 09/03/2026)
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/BC/PwBD/ESM candidates from Haryana as per government rules

• General / UR / EWS / OBC / Other State Male: Rs. 1,000
• SC / BC-A / BC-B / ESM (Haryana domicile): Rs. 250
• All Female candidates (Haryana domicile): Rs. 250
• PwBD (Haryana domicile): Nil (Free)

Selection Process

1. Screening Test (Qualifying): 100 MCQs, 100 marks, 2 hours. Marks NOT counted in final merit. Min 25% to pass. 0.25 negative marking.
2. Subject Knowledge Test (Descriptive): 150 marks, 3 hours, Computer Science. Min 35% to qualify. 87.5% weightage in merit.
3. Interview / Viva-Voce: 12.5% weightage in merit.
