UIDAI is hiring for the post of Deputy Director at the UIDAI Technology Centre, Bengaluru on deputation (Foreign Service terms) basis. If you are a Central, State, UT, PSU or Autonomous Body officer holding an analogous post or working in Pay Level 8/9/10 of the 7th CPC with the required regular service, you can apply. UIDAI Deputy Director Recruitment 2026 (Technology Centre, Bengaluru) - 1 Post
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the statutory body under the Aadhaar Act, 2016 responsible for issuing Aadhaar numbers, has issued vacancy circular F. No. HQ-12016/1/2021-HR-HQ dated 17 April 2026 for the post of Deputy Director at its Technology Centre in Bengaluru. Private candidates are not eligible — the post is open only to officers of the Central Government, State/UT Governments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) or Autonomous Organisations. The period of deputation is 5 years (relievable for a minimum of 3 years).

Who Can Apply?
Essential Eligibility
You must be an officer from the Central Government holding analogous posts on regular basis, OR meet ONE of the service conditions below:
- 3 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 - Rs. 1,77,500), OR
- 5 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 9 (Rs. 53,100 - Rs. 1,67,800), OR
- 6 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 8 (Rs. 47,600 - Rs. 1,51,100)
OR officers from State/UT Government, Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), or an Autonomous Organisation holding regular post in corresponding grades with requisite experience are also eligible.
Desirable Qualification
- Experience of work in Administration / Legal / Establishment / Human Resource / Finance / Accounts / Budgeting / Vigilance / Procurement / Planning & Policy / Project Implementation & Monitoring / E-Governance, etc.
- Basic skills of working in a computerised office environment.
Other Conditions
- Only officers who have completed at least 5 years of government service may apply.
- Officers holding analogous posts in the parent organisation may be preferred.
- Minimum residual service of 3 years must be available as on the closing date of the application.
- Private candidates are not eligible.
- Once an application is submitted, the candidate may not withdraw their candidature subsequently.
Age Limit
- You should be below 56 years of age as on the closing date for the application (16 June 2026).

Salary
- Pay Matrix Level-11 (7th CPC): Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month
- Salary, allowances, joining time and medical benefits will be governed by the UIDAI (Appointment of Officers and Employees) Regulations, 2020 and UIDAI (Salary, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Employees) Regulations, 2020.
- Leave will be regulated by the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972.
- Deputation terms will follow DoPT Office Memorandum No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay II) dated 17.06.2010 and other DoPT orders issued from time to time.
- You can continue with the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) or avail UIDAI's Medical Reimbursement Scheme.

Responsibilities
- Handle administrative, finance, HR or legal matters at the UIDAI Technology Centre, Bengaluru
- Lead policy planning, project monitoring and e-Governance initiatives related to Aadhaar services
- Manage establishment, vigilance, procurement and budgeting workflows at the centre
- Coordinate with UIDAI Head Office and other government departments on operational matters
- Supervise junior officers and staff engaged in technology and authentication operations
- Prepare reports, briefs and policy notes for senior management
- Implement DoPT and UIDAI rules on personnel, salary, leave and service conditions
- Ensure timely compliance with audit, vigilance and statutory reporting requirements
