UIDAI Assistant Accounts Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the body set up under the Aadhaar Act, 2016 to issue and authenticate Aadhaar numbers, is filling the Assistant Accounts Officer post at its Regional Office in Bengaluru. This is a deputation opening on Foreign Service terms, so it is meant for officers already serving in government, public sector undertakings or autonomous bodies, not for fresh job seekers.

The circular first came out in July 2026, and UIDAI has since re-opened it with a longer application window. If you work on the accounts side of a Central or State department and want a few years at the Aadhaar authority's southern regional office, this is your chance. Officers who already hold an analogous post in their parent organisation may get preference.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation only: Private candidates are not eligible. You must hold a regular post in a Central Government, State Government, PSU or autonomous organisation.
• Tenure: The deputation runs for five years. Your lending organisation may relieve you for a shorter spell under its own rules, but not for less than three years.
• Service rules: Pay, allowances, joining time and medical benefits follow the UIDAI (Appointment of Officers and Employees) Regulations, 2020 and the UIDAI salary and service regulations of 2020. Leave follows the CCS (Leave) Rules, 1972, and the rest of the deputation terms follow DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay II) dated 17.6.2010.
• Pay protection: If your organisation's pay structure or DA pattern differs from UIDAI's, only your pay is protected — not the perks.
• Medical cover: If you are on CGHS in your parent office, you can stay on it, and you can also use UIDAI's own Medical Reimbursement Scheme.
• Officers from PSUs, banks and LIC: The circular carries a grade-equivalence table so staff of organisations with a different pay structure can check whether their grade matches; if your pay scale has since been revised, the revised equivalent applies automatically.
• No withdrawal: Once you apply, you cannot withdraw your candidature later.
• Vacancy count: UIDAI says it may change the number of posts at any time at its discretion.

Fill the form online on the UIDAI Career Portal, then download, print and sign the submitted application and hand it to your cadre controlling authority or parent organisation. They forward it through proper channel, together with the Annex II certificate, your cadre clearance and attested APAR copies, to Director (HR), UIDAI Regional Office, 3rd Floor, South Wing, Khanija Bhavan, No. 49, Race Course Road, Bengaluru – 560 001.

Your office should forward the application only if it can spare you when you are selected — UIDAI considers only complete applications that come through proper channel.

Corrigenda and Notices

• Extension circular dated 5 October 2026: UIDAI extended the closing date of vacancy circular ID 19924. Eligibility, including age, is still judged on the original closing date, and anyone who already applied under the July circular does not need to apply again.
