Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) Fellowship Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai has released Advt. No. VAR/ACA/25/2026 inviting applications for two specialised fellowship programmes at HBCH/MPMMCC, Varanasi, starting from the August 2026 session. TMC is a Grant-in-Aid Institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, and HBCH/MPMMCC Varanasi is one of its cancer treatment and research units. These are tenured, non-permanent positions of one and two years, ideal for doctors who want hands-on training in transfusion medicine and patient blood management for cancer care. Both posts need an NMC-recognized MD/DNB in Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion — if you already have this qualification, this is a solid chance to specialize further at a premier cancer institute while working alongside experienced oncology and transfusion medicine teams.

Vacancy Breakdown

  • Fellowship in Transfusion & Apheresis Sciences (2 Years): 1 post
  • Fellowship in Patient Blood Management in Oncology (1 Year): 1 post

Who Can Apply?

For Fellowship in Transfusion & Apheresis Sciences (2 Years):

  • Qualification: M.D. / D.N.B. (Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion / Transfusion Medicine) or an equivalent postgraduate degree recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

For Fellowship in Patient Blood Management in Oncology (1 Year):

  • Qualification: M.D. / D.N.B. (Immunohematology & Blood Transfusion) recognized by NMC, or an equivalent degree.

All your UG and PG degrees must be recognized by the National Medical Commission. If you get selected, you must also register with the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council. If your final result is still awaited, you can still apply — but you must show proof of passing before the MCQ test or interview. Make sure every field in your application is filled correctly, since incomplete applications are summarily rejected and TMC reserves the right to reject any application without giving reasons.

Age Limit

  • You should be up to 40 years old, with age and experience counted as on 15 July 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 years for persons with disabilities (PwBD).

  • The 2-Year Fellowship pays Rs. 1,33,623 per month (Gross) in the first year and Rs. 1,36,269 per month (Gross) in the second year.
  • The 1-Year Fellowship pays a flat Rs. 1,33,623 per month (Gross).
  • You may be provided shared accommodation depending on availability, with hostel charges deducted from your monthly stipend.
  • You will need to pay a security/caution deposit of Rs. 1,33,623 for the one-year fellowship post.

Application Fee

  • General / Male candidates: Rs. 300 (pay online via Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI)
  • SC / ST / Female candidates / Persons with Disabilities: No fee
  • Fees once paid are not refunded under any circumstances, even in case of duplicate payment.

Selection Process

TMC will select fellows in the following stages:

  1. MCQ Test: Held only if the number of applicants is more than 3 times the number of posts advertised. If fewer candidates apply than there are vacancies, no MCQ test will be held for that post.
  2. Interview: Conducted by HBCH/MPMMCC, Varanasi.
  3. Document Verification: You must bring original documents including your NOC (if you are currently employed in government service), proof of date of birth, qualification certificates, and category certificates.

No TA/DA (Travel Allowance/Dearness Allowance) is paid for appearing in the MCQ test or interview. TMC can also set minimum qualifying marks or cut-off criteria (discipline-wise or category-wise) for shortlisting candidates, so simply meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee an MCQ or interview call. The decision of the Dean (Academics), HBCH/MPMMCC will be final in all such matters.

  1. Go to the TMC careers portal at tmc.gov.in/postmaster/Careers.
  2. Find Advt. No. VAR/ACA/25/2026 and click on the application link.
