Sainik School, Amaravathinagar (Tamil Nadu) is a residential public school for boys run under the Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence, Government of India and affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. The school has invited applications for 17 vacancies across 3 different posts -- 13 regular General Employee (MTS) positions and 4 contractual positions. Vacancy Details

All 17 posts are Un-Reserved. The contractual posts may be extended up to 3 years based on school policy.

Who Can Apply?

For General Employee (MTS) - 13 Posts:

• Qualification: You need to have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or its equivalent from a recognised Board or University.
• Preferred Skills: Diploma, Degree, or hands-on experience in any of these trades: Cooking, Bakery, Electrician, Plumbing, Driving, Tailoring, Computer Hardware/CCTV/Networking Maintenance, Horse Grooming, or Housekeeping.
• Language: You should know Hindi, English, and Tamil.
• You must be physically fit and ready to work as a multi-task person.
• Multi-skilled candidates with prior experience in boarding schools will be given preference.

For PEM/PTI-cum-Matron (Female Only) - 1 Post:

• Qualification: You must have passed Intermediate (12th Class) or equivalent.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) -- 4-year degree, or 3-year Graduation + 1-year B.P.Ed Diploma, or B.Sc Physical Education + 1-year B.P.Ed Diploma.
• You should be able to speak fluent English and have experience in handling students in a residential school.
• Achievement in sports, art, music, or extra-curricular activities is an added advantage.

For Ward Boys - 3 Posts:

• Qualification: You need to have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or equivalent.
• You should be able to speak English and Hindi or Tamil fluently.
• Preferred: Ex-Servicemen will get preference. Candidates with experience in Military Training Institutions, Sainik Schools, or Boarding Schools are also preferred.
• Candidates with skills in games and co-curricular activities will have an edge.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 50 years old.
• For MTS: Age as on 01 May 2026.
• For PTI-cum-Matron and Ward Boys: Age as on 01 July 2026.

Salary

• General Employee (MTS) - Regular: Pay Level-1 (7th CPC) with pay range of Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900 per month plus Dearness Allowance.
• PEM/PTI-cum-Matron - Contractual: Rs. 25,000 consolidated per month.
• Ward Boys - Contractual: Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 25,000 consolidated per month, depending on experience.

Additional benefits for the regular MTS post: NPS, LTC, Gratuity, Transport Allowance, and subsidised schooling for two children as per Sainik Schools Society rules. All selected candidates (regular and contractual) get rent-free accommodation on the school campus. Contractual staff also get free messing with cadets during the academic session.

• General / OBC: Rs. 500
• SC / ST: Rs. 200
• Payment Mode: Demand Draft (DD) in favour of Principal, Sainik School, Amaravathinagar, payable at Udumalpet.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in 3 stages:

1. Written Examination: Covers General Awareness, Reasoning, Basic Mathematics, English Grammar and Comprehension, Regional Language (Tamil/Hindi), and trade-specific topics. Qualifying marks are 33%, which may be raised to 50% by the Board of Officers.
2. Skill/Trade Test: Practical assessment of your skills relevant to the post you applied for.
3. Personal Interview: Final round to assess your overall suitability for the role.
