Who Can Apply?

• A 2-year Integrated Post Graduate Course from the Regional Institute of Education (NCERT) in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks including B.Ed, OR a Master's degree in the subject (50%+) plus B.Ed from a recognised university.
• You should be proficient in teaching in the English medium.
• Teaching experience at Higher/Secondary level in a CBSE-affiliated English medium residential school, computer application skills, and achievement in games/sports/extra-curricular activities are desired.

TGT - Maths (Regular, Rs. 44,900/month):

• A 4-year Integrated Graduate course from the Regional Institute of Education (NCERT) in Maths with B.Ed component (50%+), OR a 3-year Bachelor's degree in Maths (50%+) plus B.Ed.
• You must be CTET/STET (Paper-II) qualified and proficient in teaching in the English medium.

Laboratory Assistant - Physics (Regular, Rs. 25,500/month, reserved for ST):

• You should have passed 12th/Intermediate with Physics as one of the subjects.
• Teaching experience in a residential English medium CBSE school, good communication skills in English, and computer knowledge are desired.

Counselor (Contractual, 3 years, Rs. 30,000/month consolidated):

• Graduate/Post Graduate in Psychology, OR Post Graduate in Child Development, OR Graduate/Post Graduate with a Diploma in Career Guidance and Counselling.
• Experience handling children in a residential school is preferred.

Band Master (Contractual, 3 years, Rs. 40,000/month consolidated):

• A Potential Band Master/Band Major/Drum Major course from the AEC Training College & Centre, Pachmarhi, OR an equivalent Naval/Air Force course.
• A PG Diploma in Brass Band conducting and fluency in English and Hindi/Tamil are desired.

Art Master (Contractual, 3 years, Rs. 25,000/month consolidated, reserved for ST):

• A Master's degree in Fine Art (Painting specialisation), OR a graduate degree with Fine Art/Art/Drawing and Painting plus a minimum 4-year diploma, OR Higher Secondary with a 5-year (full-time)/7-year (part-time) diploma in Fine Art/Painting/Drawing.

ST reservation applies to the Laboratory Assistant (Physics) and Art Master posts.

Age Limit

• PGT posts (Maths, English, Physics): 21 to 40 years
• TGT Maths and Laboratory Assistant: 21 to 35 years
• Counselor, Band Master, Art Master (Contractual): 21 to 50 years
• Age is counted as on 1 October 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Ex-servicemen applying for Band Master get a 5-year age relaxation.

Salary

• PGT (Maths/English/Physics): Rs. 47,600 + DA per month (Level 8, Pay Matrix, 7th CPC)
• TGT Maths: Rs. 44,900 + DA per month (Level 7, Pay Matrix, 7th CPC)
• Laboratory Assistant (Physics): Rs. 25,500 + DA per month (Level 4, Pay Matrix, 7th CPC)
• Counselor: Rs. 30,000 per month consolidated
• Band Master: Rs. 40,000 per month consolidated
• Art Master: Rs. 25,000 per month consolidated
• Regular staff also get DA, Transport Allowance, LTC, NPS pension, subsidised schooling for 2 children, gratuity, and leave encashment.
• All selected staff get rent-free accommodation on campus and free messing with cadets during the academic session.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / MBC: Rs. 500
• SC / ST: Rs. 300
• Fee is non-refundable and must be paid online via SBI Collect on the school website; keep the payment receipt to attach with your application.

Selection Process

Selection is done in three phases:

1. Written Test (50% weightage, 100 marks): General Knowledge (15 marks), General English (15 marks), Basic Maths (10 marks), and a Subject Test at the appropriate level (60 marks). You need at least 33% marks to qualify (the board may raise this to 50%).
2. Class Demonstration (30% weightage, 100 marks): You will demonstrate your classroom teaching skills on a topic assigned by the Selection Board, supported by a lesson plan.
3. Interview (15% weightage, 100 marks) + Higher Qualification & Experience (5% weightage, 50 marks): The Selection Board assesses your subject knowledge, teaching aptitude, and communication skills.

The selection process will tentatively be held in the third week of September 2026 at Sainik School, Amaravathinagar. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the selection process.

3. Pay the application fee online through SBI Collect and take a printout of the receipt.
4. Attach your photo, self-attested mark sheets (Class 10 up to your highest qualification), experience certificates, the fee-paid receipt, and caste certificate (if claiming SC/ST fee concession).
5. Superscribe the envelope with the post applied for in bold letters.
6. Send the completed hard copy application by post to The Principal, Sainik School, Amaravathinagar, PIN - 642102, Udumalpet Taluk, Tiruppur District (Tamil Nadu) so that it reaches by 25 August 2026.
