National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli Project Associate-II Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy) has announced one temporary Project Associate-II position under an IIT Mandi iHub and HCI Foundation project. The project studies multi-modal environmental perception and navigation for autonomous drones, with a focus on reliable perception in changing and difficult conditions.
The selected person will work in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering under Principal Investigator Dr. M. Brindha. This is a short project appointment rather than a regular institute post, but the notice says the selected Project Associate may register for a Ph.D. or M.S. programme under NIT Tiruchirappalli rules.
Who Can Apply?
You should check both the degree and experience conditions before applying. The core route is a B.E./B.Tech in CSE, IT, ECE, EEE or an equivalent field, together with two years of relevant industry or academic experience. An M.E./M.Tech in CSE, IT or an equivalent field is preferred rather than listed as the only entry route.
- Essential degree: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Experience: At least 2 years of industry or academic experience relevant to the project.
- Academic score: Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in UG and PG studies stated in your application.
- Preferred degree: M.E./M.Tech in CSE, IT or an equivalent technical area.
- Preferred profile: A good academic record, research potential and experience related to drone perception, deep learning or the advertised work.
Your application should show how your education and experience connect to deep-learning models, object detection or multi-modal perception. The institute will rely on the records you upload, so make each claimed qualification and period of work easy to verify.
Age Limit
- Your age should not exceed 35 years.
- Age relaxation: Relaxation will be available according to Government of India norms.
- The notification does not specify a separate age-reference date, so rely on the official notice and form while entering your date of birth.
Salary
- The Project Associate-II will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 35,000 per month.
- The initial project duration is 6 months, with an extension possible only when project funds remain available.
- The notice does not list regular pay-scale allowances for this project role.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
Selection Process
NIT Tiruchirappalli will assess your records and may conduct a written test if required, followed by an interview. Shortlisted applicants will receive the communication by email, so the email address in your form must stay active.
- Application screening: The project team will check your degree, marks or CGPA, experience, research potential and supporting records.
- Written test, if required: The institute may use a test before the interview, but the notice does not publish its questions, marks, subjects or duration.
- Interview: The tentative interview is scheduled in the CSE Meeting Room on 31 August 2026 from 9:30 AM onwards.
- Original-document check: Bring your original certificates to the interview so the institute can compare them with the uploaded copies.
The selection committee's decision is final. Canvassing in any form can lead to rejection, and appearing for the interview does not carry any TA/DA payment.
