Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited (RITES), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has released notification for 5 Assistant Manager posts in the IT domain. RITES is a premier multi-disciplinary consultancy organization in transport, infrastructure, and related technologies. This is a regular (permanent) recruitment — selected candidates will be on probation for one year and can be posted anywhere in India or abroad. IT professionals with 2+ years of experience in networking, programming, or data centre operations should apply.

Qualification
- Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Telecommunications, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Electronics & Communication
- OR Post Graduate Degree in Electronics, Tele Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Computer Science, IT, or Computer Applications
- Your degree must be from a university recognized by AICTE/UGC or an equivalent institution under the UGC Act, 1956
- Sections A & B of the Institution of Engineers (India) exam, recognized by AICTE and treated as equivalent by the Government of India, are also accepted
Marks Required
- UR/EWS category: First class degree or minimum 60% marks
- SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD: At least 50% marks
Experience
- You need a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in the areas mentioned in the job description for each post
- Training, internship, teaching, academic, fellowship, or PhD research experience does not count
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 32 years as on 27 April 2026
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 37 years)
- OBC-NCL: 3 years relaxation (up to 35 years)

Salary
- Pay Scale: Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 1,40,000 per month (IDA pattern)
- Approximate CTC: Rs. 16.01 Lacs per annum (at minimum of scale)
- In addition to basic pay, you will get DA, Fixed/Variable Allowances, Performance Related Pay (PRP), Medical Facilities, HRA/Lease Accommodation, PF, Gratuity, and Post-Retirement Medical Scheme
- Note: Candidates from Government Departments/PSUs switching from CDA to IDA pay scales will get pay protection as per RITES policy
Application Fee

- EWS / SC / ST / PwBD: Rs. 300 plus applicable taxes

- Note: SC/ST/PwBD candidates applying for unreserved posts must pay the full fee of Rs. 600. The fee will be refunded later upon participation in the selection process.
Selection Process
Selection will be done in 3 stages, with the following weightage:
- Written Test (60% weightage): 125 objective-type (MCQ) questions, 1 mark each, total 125 marks. Duration: 2.5 hours. No negative marking. PwBD candidates get 50 minutes extra (compensatory time). Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for UR/EWS, 45% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD. Test will be held at 6 centers across India.
- Document Scrutiny: Based on written test results, shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification followed by interview.
- Interview (40% weightage): Candidates called in the ratio of 1:6 to vacancies. Interview has two components — Technical & Professional Proficiency (30 marks) and Personality, Communication & Competency (10 marks). Minimum qualifying marks: 60% for UR/EWS, 50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD.
Final Merit = Written Test (60%) + Interview (40%) = 100%
Candidates can appear for the selection process in Hindi or English.
After selection, appointment is subject to medical fitness as per RITES rules.

Responsibilities
- Handle network infrastructure configuration, administration, and monitoring of routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN gateways
- Manage server installation, configuration, tuning, and maintenance for Windows Server and Linux environments
- Work on software development and system workflows following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Monitor and maintain Data Centre infrastructure including servers, rack cabling, switches, and PDUs
- Assist in implementing cybersecurity improvements and compliance requirements under the DPDP Act
- Prepare incident analysis reports and execute risk mitigation strategies for IT security
- Manage virtualized environments using VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Work on SAP S/4 HANA, FIORI, ABAP, and relational database management systems

The written test will have 125 objective-type (MCQ) questions for 125 marks. You will get 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete it. PwBD candidates get an extra 50 minutes.
