IOCL, a Fortune "Global 500" Maharatna company, has released Advertisement No. PR/P/Apprentice/60(2026-27) for engaging 1,450 apprentices across 9 trades and disciplines at its Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex, under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973. This covers Trade Apprentices in Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant), Fitter, Secretarial Assistant, Accountant, and Data Entry Operator roles, plus Technician Apprentices in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines. You'll get a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act, along with accident insurance coverage, and safety shoes and a helmet for the technical trades. Freshers who haven't done any apprenticeship training before get preference.

Vacancy Breakdown by Trade/Discipline

Category-wise: UR: 637, EWS: 145, SC: 276, OBC (NCL): 392, PwBD: 58 (horizontal reservation). There is no reservation for Scheduled Tribe (ST) category in Haryana state.

Who Can Apply?

• You must have already passed your qualifying exam — candidates whose results are awaited cannot apply.
• You need at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC and PwBD candidates against reserved seats) in a regular full-time course.
• Part-time, correspondence, or distance education qualifications are not eligible.
• You can apply for only one trade/discipline — applying to more than one will get your application rejected.
• Engineering graduates, diploma holders, or vocational certificate holders with 1 or more years of job experience after their qualification are not eligible.
• You are not eligible if more than 5 years have passed since you got your qualifying degree.
• Candidates holding higher qualifications like B.E./B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, or MCA are not eligible for these apprentice posts.
• If you hold a B.Sc. (Physics, Maths, Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry), you can apply for either Code 101 or Code 108 — not both. If you hold a B.Com, you can apply for either Code 108 or Code 109 — not both.
• For Code 108 (Secretarial Assistant), you must pick either the Panipat or New Delhi training location — applying for both will get your application rejected.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 24 years old as on 31 July 2026 for the General/EWS category.
• Age Relaxation: SC candidates get 5 years and OBC (NCL) candidates get 3 years.
• PwBD: 10 years relaxation irrespective of category. PwBD-SC candidates get 5 years and PwBD-OBC(NCL) candidates get 3 years for reserved positions.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test for this recruitment. Selection happens in these stages:

1. Merit List: Based on your aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying exam for your trade/discipline. Ties are broken first by date of birth (senior candidate first), then by Matriculation marks.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must bring original certificates, category certificates, and NAPS/NATS registration proof.
3. Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness: You must be declared medically fit as per the Apprentices Act standards.
4. Offer of Engagement: Final offer is issued once your documents and medical fitness are confirmed.

How to Apply

1. Register on the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) for Codes 101, 102, 108, 109, 110 & 111, or the NATS/BOAT portal (nats.education.gov.in) for Codes 104, 105, 106 & 107.
2. Search for IOCL Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex opportunities and apply for your trade.
3. Go to iocl.com, open "What's New" and find "Engagement of Apprentices under Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex-2026".
4. Complete Step II by filling the mandatory Microsoft Forms with your NAPS/NATS registration details.
5. Use Establishment ID NHRPPC000003 on NATS or E10150600035 on NAPS to find the Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex opportunity.
6. Make sure both Step I and Step II are complete — incomplete applications will be rejected.

As an apprentice, you'll get 32 days of general leave and 12 days of casual leave per year, along with accident insurance coverage. No HRA or company accommodation is provided.
