Ordnance Factory Bhandara (Munitions India Limited) DBW Recruitment 2026 - 400 Posts
Ordnance Factory Bhandara (OF Bhandara), operating under the Ministry of Defence as a unit of Munitions India Limited (MIL), has officially announced recruitment for 400 Danger Building Worker (DBW) personnel on tenure basis. These workers will be engaged initially for one year, which can be extended up to four years based on performance and factory requirements. No application fee is charged for any category. If you have completed your apprenticeship training and hold an NAC in AOCP or related trades, this is a solid opportunity to work in one of India's key defence manufacturing units.
Category-wise Vacancy Breakdown
- UR (Unreserved): 176 posts
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 108 posts
- SC: 40 posts
- EWS: 40 posts
- ST: 36 posts
Note: 40 posts are reserved horizontally for Ex-Servicemen across all categories.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You must have a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT.
- Primary Trade: AOCP (Attendant Operator Chemical Plant) is the main trade. Candidates with NAC in AOCP get first preference.
- Feeder Trades: Candidates with NAC in IMCP, MMCP, LACP, PPO, Fitter, Machinist, Turner, Sheet Metal Worker, Electrician, and similar trades are also eligible. However, feeder trade holders will be considered only if enough AOCP candidates are not available.
- In-house Training: If you are selected through a feeder trade, you will need to complete one month of compulsory in-house training at the factory.
Priority Order for Selection
- AOCP Trade Apprentices from Ordnance Factories or Government-affiliated organizations
- Feeder Trade Apprentices from Ordnance Factories or Government-affiliated organizations
- Other eligible candidates
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 28 March 2026 (last date of application).
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 45 years)
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (up to 43 years)
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation equal to period of military service plus 3 years
Salary
- Selected candidates will get a monthly salary of Rs. 19,900 plus Dearness Allowance (DA).
- You will also get Risk Allowance, Night Duty Allowance, HRA, EPF contribution, and other benefits as per government norms.
- An annual increment of 3% is provided based on performance.

Selection Process
The selection will be done based on two components:
- NAC Examination Marks (80% weightage): Your marks in the National Apprenticeship Certificate exam will carry 80% of the total merit score.
- Trade Test / Practical Test (20% weightage - 100 marks): A practical trade test will be conducted at Ordnance Factory Bhandara. This test carries 20% of the total merit score.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will need to produce all original documents for verification.
- Medical Fitness Test: You must be declared medically fit by a Government Hospital doctor.
Final selection will be based on a combined merit list prepared from NAC marks and Trade Test performance, followed by preference and category-wise allocation.

Responsibilities
- Handle manufacturing and processing of explosives, propellants, and hazardous chemicals inside danger buildings
- Follow strict safety protocols and standard operating procedures for handling dangerous materials
- Operate chemical plant equipment and machinery as assigned in the production line
- Monitor chemical processes and report any abnormalities or safety concerns to supervisors
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area as per factory safety rules
- Assist in quality checks and testing of manufactured products
- Keep proper records of materials used, output produced, and safety inspections
