NHPC Limited is hiring 182 Apprentices across Graduate, Diploma, and ITI trades at its power stations and project sites across India. If you have passed 10th class with an ITI certificate, hold a Diploma in Engineering, or have a B.E./B.Tech/graduation degree, you can apply online. The last date to apply is 6 May 2026. NHPC Limited Apprentice Recruitment 2026 — 182 Posts
NHPC Limited (National Hydroelectric Power Corporation), a Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has released notification No. NH/Rectt./01/2026 for engagement of apprentices for one year of apprenticeship training at its various power stations and project locations. The training slots are spread across 9 locations in Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh. There is no written exam — selection is based on academic merit only. This is a great opportunity for fresh graduates, diploma holders, and ITI pass candidates to get hands-on training at India's leading hydropower company.

Who Can Apply?
Graduate Apprentice (Stipend: Rs. 15,000/month)
- Graduate (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/E&C/Computer Science): B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engg.) in the relevant discipline
- HR Executive: MBA / PGDM in HR / PM&IR / HRM / MSW
- Finance Executive: B.Com
- PR Executive: Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication / Journalism & Mass Communication or equivalent
- Rajbhasha Assistant: M.A. (Hindi) with proficient knowledge of English language, or M.A. (English) with proficient knowledge of Hindi
- Nursing Assistant: B.Sc. Nursing
- Physiotherapy Assistant: Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T)
- Supervisor (HR): BBA
Diploma Apprentice (Stipend: Rs. 13,500/month)
- Diploma (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/E&C): Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline
- Diploma (Nursing/GNM): Diploma in Nursing / GNM
- Diploma (Pharmacy): Diploma in Pharmacy
- Diploma (X-Ray): Diploma in X-Ray Technology
ITI Apprentice (Stipend: Rs. 12,000/month)
- Electrician / Plumber / Fitter / Machinist / Welder / Carpenter: ITI in the respective trade
- Computer Operator: ITI in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA)
Important: Candidates who are awaiting results of their qualifying exam or who have already completed 1 year or more of apprenticeship training are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Age relaxation for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen) as per Government of India guidelines

Monthly Stipend
- Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 15,000 per month (includes DBT of Rs. 4,500 from Govt. of India under NATS scheme)
- Diploma Apprentice: Rs. 13,500 per month (includes DBT of Rs. 4,000 from Govt. of India under NATS scheme)
- ITI Apprentice: Rs. 12,000 per month
- If shared accommodation is not provided at the training location, an additional Rs. 2,500 per month will be paid
- Stipend is subject to satisfactory performance and attendance
- Note: You need an active Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account to receive the stipend.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection is based on academic merit only. There is no interview or written exam.
- Graduate Apprentice Merit Criteria (100 marks total):
- 20% weightage for 10th class marks
- 20% weightage for 12th/Diploma marks (whichever is higher, if applicable)
- 60% weightage for aggregate in Engineering/Graduation/PG in the relevant subject
- Diploma Apprentice Merit Criteria (100 marks total):
- 30% weightage for 10th class marks
- 70% weightage for Diploma in Engineering marks
- ITI Apprentice Merit Criteria (100 marks total):
- 30% weightage for 10th class marks
- 70% weightage for ITI marks in the concerned trade
Preference in Selection: First preference goes to candidates from Project Affected Families of the respective power station. Second preference goes to candidates from the concerned district(s) of the state where the project is located. Third preference goes to candidates from the same state/UT. Remaining vacancies are filled on open merit from any state.

- If applying for Graduate/Diploma trades: Register at nats.education.gov.in (NATS portal)
- Note down your NAPS/NATS registration/enrolment number — you will need this for the NHPC application.
- Go to the NHPC website at nhpcindia.com → Career Section → Engagement of Apprentice → Apply Now.
- Fill in the online application form with your details and NAPS/NATS number.
- Upload all required documents (educational certificates, mark sheets, proof of age, caste certificate if applicable, recent passport-size photo, and signature).
- Submit the application before 6 May 2026 (5:00 PM).
- Save your system-generated registration number for future reference.
Important: You can apply for only one region/state/trade. Multiple applications will be rejected. Applications through any mode other than the NHPC website will not be accepted.

Responsibilities
- Assist the engineering or technical team at the assigned NHPC power station or project site
- Learn and apply trade skills under supervision of senior technical staff
- Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures at the work site
- Maintain attendance records and meet the performance standards set by NHPC
- Work normal office hours and observe weekly off and holidays as per NHPC rules
- Handle assigned tasks in the relevant department — Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, HR, Finance, or other trades
- Report to the designated supervisor and complete all training modules as per the apprenticeship schedule

Exam Pattern
There is no written exam or interview for NHPC Apprentice 2026. Selection is based on academic merit only, calculated out of 100 marks.
Graduate Apprentice Merit Formula
- 10th Class marks: 20% weightage
