Selection is by direct recruitment, failing which by deputation/absorption. Doctors with MD/MS or DM/M.Ch and the required experience can apply.

Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Professor Posts

• Qualification: MBBS recognised under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 + a postgraduate qualification (MD/MS) in the respective specialty
• Experience: 3 years teaching/research after MD/MS in a recognised institution. For super-specialty (DM/M.Ch) posts — 1 year after the 2/5 year DM/M.Ch (no experience needed for 3-year DM/M.Ch holders)
• Registration: Must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council

For Associate Professor Posts

• Qualification: MBBS + MD/MS (or DM/M.Ch for super-specialty) in the respective specialty
• Experience: 6 years teaching/research after MD/MS, or as required for the specialty

For Professor Posts

• Qualification: MBBS + MD/MS or DM/M.Ch in the respective specialty
• Experience: 14 years teaching/research after MD/MS, or 12 years post 3-year DM/M.Ch, or 11 years after 3-year M.Ch

DNB Equivalence: DNB (Broad Specialty) is equivalent to MD/MS and DNB (Super Specialty) to DM/M.Ch as per the NMC notification dated 14.02.2022. Non-medical candidates may apply for Biochemistry and Microbiology posts as per NMC rules.

Age Limit

• Professor: Upper age limit 58 years
• Associate Professor and Assistant Professor: Upper age limit 50 years
• Deputation: Upper age limit 56 years
• Age reference date: Last date of receipt of application (22 June 2026)
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen — as per Government of India rules

Salary

• Professor: Level-14-A — entry pay Rs. 1,59,100 per month (range up to Rs. 2,20,400)
• Associate Professor: Level-13-A1 — entry pay Rs. 1,31,400 per month (range up to Rs. 2,09,200)
• Assistant Professor: Level-12 — entry pay Rs. 1,01,500 per month (range up to Rs. 1,67,400)
• Plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) for medical faculty and other allowances as per Government of India rules
• NPA is granted only to medically qualified faculty.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is direct recruitment, failing which by deputation/absorption. There is no written exam.

1. Application Screening: Applications are screened based on qualification, experience, age and category certificates.
2. Shortlisting: Mere fulfilment of minimum qualification does not give an automatic right to be called for interview. The institute applies objective screening criteria.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for personal interview by the Selection Committee.
4. Document Verification: All original documents are verified at the interview.
5. Medical Fitness: Final appointment is subject to medical fitness by a competent Medical Board.

Probation period: 2 years for all faculty posts. Deputation, if used, will be for up to 3 years at a time.
