The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has released advertisement No. 24/2025 (dated 30 December 2025) for 116 Assistant Professor (Chemistry) posts in government colleges of the MP Higher Education Department. Selection is through an OMR-based written exam followed by an interview. The exam will be held at four centres — Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur. Candidates with a Master's in Chemistry or its allied subjects can apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Chemistry (or an allied subject such as Applied, Environmental, Pharmaceutical, Physical, Organic, or Inorganic Chemistry) with at least 55% marks from a recognised Indian university.
• NET/SET: You must have qualified NET (UGC/CSIR), or SLET/SET. Only the MP SET is valid (SET of other states is not accepted).
• Ph.D. holders: Candidates with a Ph.D. awarded as per UGC norms are exempt from NET/SET.
• A 5% relaxation in marks (minimum 50%) applies for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/EWS/Divyangjan candidates of MP.

Age Limit

• You must be between 21 and 40 years old as on 1 January 2026.
• Age relaxation is given to reserved categories and other eligible groups as per MP government rules (see Appendix-1 of the notification).

Salary

• Entry pay: Rs. 57,700 per month under Academic Level 10 of the pay matrix.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per MP Government rules.

Application Fee

• General / candidates from outside MP: Rs. 500
• SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / EWS / Divyangjan of MP: Rs. 250

Selection Process

Selection is done in two stages:

1. Written Exam (OMR-based): An objective (MCQ) exam with negative marking. The exam is held in the main subject (Chemistry).
2. Interview: Candidates equal to three times (3x) the number of posts in each category are called for interview, based on exam marks.

The final merit list is made by adding the written exam marks and interview marks.
