IIT Indore Research Associate HSS Recruitment 2026

IIT Indore Research Associate Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) is hiring a Research Associate in its School of Humanities and Social Sciences for an ICSSR-funded project (No. 02/2024-25/ICSSR/RP/PVTGS/GEN). The project studies how Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) is being put into practice among Kerala's Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups, and builds language-teaching modules in line with NEP 2020. This is a short project post of five months, extendable after review, and the institute wants the selected person to join by the second week of November 2026.

The role mixes linguistics with hands-on computing. If you have worked with text or speech data, can code in Python or R, and also enjoy academic writing, this post is built for that combination.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Strictly on-site: You must work from the IIT Indore campus at Simrol; remote work is not an option.
• Temporary appointment: The post is purely temporary and tied to the ICSSR project; the five-month term can be extended only after a review.
• Pay norms: The consolidated pay follows ICSSR norms for project staff.
• Prior project experience: The two years of experience must be as a Research Assistant in a project.
• Accuracy: If any detail in your application turns out to be false, your candidature is cancelled at once.
• Advert header: The notice's title line reads "Research Assistant", but the position described and paid for is Research Associate (RA).

Application Submission Notes

Apply through the Google Form linked in the notice. Upload your detailed CV together with your degree certificates, mark sheets, experience certificates and date-of-birth proof as one single PDF file; incomplete applications are not considered.

Only shortlisted candidates are called for an online interview, tentatively in the first week of November 2026, and only selected candidates are informed by email. For questions, contact Dr. Thapasya J. (thapasya@iiti.ac.in), School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
