Meghalaya Early Childhood Development Mission Society (MECDMS) is hiring Programme Managers and Early Childhood Development Young Professionals on contract. The roles support the mission through partnerships, information technology and community programmes. The managers work in Shillong, while the Young Professional roles reach locations across Meghalaya.

Posts and Disciplines

• Programme Manager – Strategic Partnerships: A Shillong-based role connecting the mission with external partners and keeping joint work aligned with its priorities.
• Programme Manager – Information Technology: A Shillong-based role supporting the mission’s data systems, information reporting and everyday technology operations.
• ECD Young Professionals: Community programme roles in Shillong, Nongstoin, Mairang, Mawkyrwat, Jowai, Khliehriat, Nongpoh, Tura, Resubelpara, Ampati, Williamnagar and Baghmara.

Post-wise Duties

Programme Manager – Strategic Partnerships

You will identify potential partners, discuss joint activities and maintain working relationships with existing partners. The role includes proposals, collaboration plans and negotiations, followed by coordination with internal teams. You will also track commitments and report on partnership outcomes.

Programme Manager – Information Technology

You will keep the management information system useful and reliable through data-quality checks, reports and improvements. The role also covers routine maintenance, user support, troubleshooting, network monitoring and basic server infrastructure. You may coordinate with vendors to keep systems secure and working smoothly.

ECD Young Professionals

You will support early childhood, health and development programmes, including preschool readiness, nutrition and caregiver activities. You will help prepare learning materials and training resources, visit field locations, collect information and work with community stakeholders. Supporting Anganwadi workers and documenting findings for programme improvements are also part of the role.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract status: These are temporary contractual appointments. They do not create a claim to a permanent government position or a permanent position in an organisation under it.
• Travel and transfers: All posts are transferable and involve extensive travel and village stays. Consider whether you can meet these working conditions before applying.
• Working hours: The notice highlights long working hours and expects commitment to community service.
• Local preference: Local candidates receive preference. Speaking, reading and writing the local language also gives an advantage.
• Travel expenses: MECDMS will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the examination.
• Conduct: False information, hiding material facts, impersonation or interference with fair recruitment can lead to rejection or debarment. Canvassing also disqualifies a candidate.
