Kerala Agricultural University has released a notification (No. COAVKA/1610/2026-E2 dated 10 July 2026) inviting eligible candidates for selection as Assistant Professor (Contract basis) for the B.Sc (Hons.) Horticulture Degree Programme at College of Agriculture, Vellanikkara. No written exam is involved - selection is done directly through a walk-in interview. This is a good opportunity for candidates with a Master's degree in Horticulture who want teaching experience at a government agricultural university.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Master's degree in Horticulture from a university recognized by KAU, with a minimum of 55% marks, along with NET qualification.
• Alternative: If you do not have NET, you can still apply if you hold a Ph.D or Master's degree in Horticulture recognized by KAU.
• Desirable: Teaching experience in Horticulture is an added advantage.

Age Limit

• Your age should not be above 50 years as on 01 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: As per existing Government of Kerala rules for eligible candidates.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a Consolidated Pay of Rs. 44,100 per month.
• This is a fixed consolidated salary and not linked to any pay scale or additional allowances.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done directly through an interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Candidates are shortlisted and selected based on their performance in a walk-in interview along with verification of original certificates.

1. Prepare your original certificates and self-attested copies proving your age, qualification, caste, and experience.
2. Reach the Council Room, College of Agriculture, Vellanikkara, Thrissur on the interview date.
3. Report by 10 AM on 20 July 2026 for the walk-in interview.
4. Carry your certificates for verification at the venue.

Note: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview. If selected, you will need to execute an agreement on stamp paper worth Rs. 200.
