High Court of Karnataka Data Entry Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 21 Posts

The High Court of Karnataka has released Notification No. HCRB/DEA-6/2026 (RPC) for the direct recruitment of 21 Data Entry Assistant posts under the Residual Parent Cadre, of which 6 are backlog posts. This is a permanent government job with a two-year probation period. There is no written exam — selection is done through a Typing Test and Interview. Graduates who can type in both English and Kannada should apply.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

  • You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, Business Management, or Computer Applications from a recognised university with at least 55% marks (General/OBC) or 50% marks (SC/ST).
  • You must have passed the Senior Grade Typewriting examination in English and Kannada.
  • You must have computer knowledge — a certificate in computer basics from a recognised institute.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • Maximum age: 40 years for General Merit, 43 years for OBC Category II(A)/II(B)/III(A)/III(B), and 45 years for SC/ST and OBC Category-I.
  • A one-time age relaxation of 5 years is provided as per Government Order DPAR 262 SRR 2025.

Salary

  • You will get a pay scale of Rs. 25,500 - Rs. 81,100 (Pay Level 4) with admissible allowances.

  • General Merit and OBC Category II(A)/II(B)/III(A)/III(B): Rs. 350
  • SC / ST / OBC Category-I / Persons with Benchmark Disability: Rs. 200
  • Payment mode: Online through the State Bank of India payment gateway.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on a Typing Test and Interview, out of a total of 120 marks:

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates equal to 10 times the number of vacancies are shortlisted for the Typing Test based on the marks in their qualifying exam.
  2. Typing Test (100 marks, minimum 60 to pass): A 500-word passage is dictated for 10 minutes and you must transcribe it on a computer within 20 minutes.
  3. Interview (20 marks, minimum 10 to pass): Candidates equal to 5 times the vacancies (from the successful Typing Test candidates) are called for interview.

You need a grand total of 70 marks out of 120 to qualify.
