Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, Business Management, Computer Applications, or Business Administration from a recognized university.
• Minimum Marks: 55% aggregate for General and Other Backward Categories, 50% aggregate for SC/ST candidates.
• Computer Knowledge: You must know how to operate a computer.
• Kalyana Karnataka Certificate: For the 2 backlog posts under HCRB/SDA-5/2026, you need a Kalyana Karnataka Region (371-J) eligibility certificate.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years.
• General Merit: Maximum age 40 years (35 + 5 years, one-time relaxation).
• Other Backward Classes (Category II(A)/II(B)/III(A)/III(B)): Maximum age 43 years (38 + 5 years).
• SC/ST/Category-I: Maximum age 45 years (40 + 5 years).
• The extra 5-year relaxation applies to all categories as a one-time measure under Government Order No. DPAR 262 SeNeNi 2025 dated 29.01.2026.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month under Pay Level 4.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as admissible under Karnataka government rules.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a Competitive Test and Interview, done in 2 stages:

1. Competitive Test (90 minutes, 80 marks): English Essay (30 marks, minimum 20 to pass), Translation from Kannada to English (30 marks, minimum 20 to pass), and Test of General Knowledge (20 marks, minimum 10 to pass).
2. Interview (20 marks, minimum 10 to pass): Conducted for candidates shortlisted from the Competitive Test.

The Grand Total is 100 marks, and you need at least 60 marks overall to qualify. You will be called for the Competitive Test in the ratio of 1:10 (10 candidates per vacancy per category) based on your qualifying degree marks, and for the Interview in the ratio of 1:5 based on your Competitive Test performance. Selected candidates serve a 2-year probation period.
