BMC is hiring 612 Trade Apprentices across 18 ITI trades in Mumbai. If you have passed SSC (10th) with Marathi as a subject and completed all semesters of your ITI trade certificate, you can register online and attend the walk-in selection. The last date to attend the recruitment mela is 21 August 2026. You will get a monthly stipend between Rs. 17,680 and Rs. 19,890 depending on your trade.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - 612 Posts

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), also known as MCGM, has released Notification No. प्रकाअ/585/एमसी dated 11 August 2026 for 612 Trade Apprentice posts under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The vacancies are spread across 18 different ITI trades, so candidates from almost every trade background get a fair shot. There is no written exam — you get shortlisted directly at a walk-in recruitment mela based on your ITI marks. This is a good opportunity for fresh ITI pass-outs from Maharashtra to get one year of hands-on training with one of India's richest municipal corporations, along with a monthly stipend.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed SSC (10th standard) with Marathi as one of your subjects.
• Trade Certificate: You must have passed all semesters of the ITI trade examination in your relevant trade from a recognized ITI.
• Domicile: You must hold a Maharashtra domicile certificate.
• Eligible Trades: The 612 posts are spread across 18 ITI trades, including Fitter, Wireman, Electrician, AC Mechanic, MMV, Draughtsman, Turner, Machinist, Painter, COPA, Plumber, Mason, Carpenter, Welder and Diesel Mechanic.

Salary

• If your trade falls under Category A (Fitter, Wireman, Electrician, AC Mechanic, MMV, Draughtsman, Turner, Machinist, Painter), you get a stipend of Rs. 19,890 per month.
• If your trade falls under Category B (COPA, Plumber, Mason, Carpenter, Welder, Diesel Mechanic and other trades), you get a stipend of Rs. 17,680 per month.
• This is a fixed monthly stipend paid as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the duration of your training.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

BMC selects Trade Apprentices without holding any written test:

1. Shortlisting at the Mela: You are shortlisted on the spot based on your ITI final-semester marks and applicable reservation category.
2. Document Verification: You must bring self-attested original documents for verification at the venue.
3. Final Engagement: Selected candidates are engaged as Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the training period of their trade.

Reservation for the 612 posts works as follows: Women (30%), Ex-Servicemen (15%), Project-Affected (5%), Sportspersons (5%), Earthquake-Affected (2%), Orphans (1%) and PwD (4%).

How to Apply

1. Go to the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and register or log in.
2. Select MCGM (BMC) as your establishment under "Apprenticeship Opportunities".
3. Complete your online registration before attending the mela — this is mandatory.
4. Report in person with self-attested documents to the walk-in mela at Jamsaheb Mukadam Government ITI, Govandi, Mumbai on 20 or 21 August 2026, between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, on the date applicable to your trade.
5. Get shortlisted on the spot based on your ITI marks and complete document verification.

• Support routine maintenance and repair work under the guidance of BMC staff
• Complete periodic assessments as required under the Apprentices Act, 1961
