Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Government of India Maharatna PSU, has released a circular for 90 Graduate Apprentice training vacancies at its Tiruchirappalli unit for 2026-27, under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973. This one-year training covers engineering disciplines as well as Accountant and HR roles, giving fresh graduates from Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, ECE, EEE, Commerce and Arts backgrounds a chance to gain hands-on industry experience. Preference is given to candidates who completed their qualifying exam from Tamil Nadu-based institutions, though candidates from other states are considered if enough Tamil Nadu candidates are not available for a branch. Completing the apprenticeship does not entitle you to a job offer at BHEL — the company has no obligation to employ apprentices after training ends.

Who Can Apply?

For Engineering Disciplines (Mechanical / Civil / CSE / ECE / EEE):

• You need a 10+2 pass plus a regular full-time B.E./B.Tech (or equivalent Engineering/Technology degree) in the relevant discipline.

For Accountant:

• You need a 10+2 pass plus a regular full-time B.Com degree.

For Assistant-HR:

• You need a 10+2 pass plus a regular full-time B.A. degree.

• Marks: Minimum 60% for UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates, from a Government-recognized Institution/University.
• Passing Year: Only candidates who completed their degree in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 can apply.
• Degrees completed through Distance Learning, Part-Time, Correspondence, or Sandwich courses are not eligible.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 27 years old as on 1 August 2026 (for General candidates).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC (NCL) candidates get 3 years, and candidates with a benchmark disability (minimum 40%) get 10 years in the upper age limit.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

BHEL will select candidates based on merit, without conducting a written exam:

1. Merit List: Based on the marks you scored in your qualifying degree exam. If two candidates tie, the older candidate is preferred.
2. Document Verification: You must bring your original certificates and a printout of your online application.
3. Physical Fitness Check: Selected apprentices must meet BHEL's minimum physical fitness standards.

Reservation: 19% for SC, 1% for ST, 27% for OBC (NCL), 10% for EWS, and 4% for Persons with Disabilities out of the total training vacancies.

2. Go to the BHEL Tiruchirappalli Apprenticeship Application Portal at trichy.bhel.com.
3. Click on "Our Services" and then "Apprenticeship Application Portal".
4. Fill in the online application form with your personal and educational details.
5. Submit the form and save a copy for document verification later.

No TA/DA will be paid for document verification or joining the apprenticeship training. Keep checking trichy.bhel.com and your registered email for further updates.

• Maintain training records, logbooks, and progress reports as required under the Apprentices Act
