Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) is recruiting a Guarantee Engineer for its Ship Repair Facility in Karwar. This is a contract engagement linked to CSL ship-repair work, with initial appointment at Kochi before posting to Karwar or another unit or project site. Mobility is an important part of this appointment: you may need to serve beyond the location named in the post title.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract length: The appointment runs for three years. CSL may extend it for another two years, depending on its requirements and your performance; an extension is not automatic.
• Posting: Your initial appointment is at CSL, Kochi. The subsequent posting may be at the Karwar Ship Repair Facility or another CSL unit or project site, according to the work available.
• Transfer liability: You must be willing to work in different departments, aboard ships and at CSL units, work sites or projects. This obligation can include locations in India or abroad.
• Employment after the contract: This is an engagement for a specified period. CSL does not promise another appointment during or after completion of the contract.
• Travel costs: CSL will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the recruitment process. You should plan these costs yourself.
• Current employment: If you work in a government department or public-sector organisation, follow your employers rules for seeking outside employment. CSL will not take over liabilities linked to your previous service.
• Workplace policy: The selected person must give an undertaking to follow CSL rules on smartphone use at work.
• Rank-list validity: The list can remain valid for up to 18 months from the reporting of the last advised candidate, or until a fresh notice for this post is issued. CSL may use it for non-joining cases, later departures or future openings with the necessary approval.
• Recruitment changes: CSL may change the requirement, leave the position unfilled or alter or cancel the recruitment. An application or call letter does not itself create a right to appointment.
