ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (ICAR-IVRI), part of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, is hiring Young Professional II staff for its Division of Biochemistry at Izatnagar, Bareilly. The work belongs to an ICAR-National Fellow project on a live attenuated Salmonella Typhimurium vaccine designed to express proteins from important bacterial pathogens of chickens. You would join a project team focused on vaccine development, with the engagement tied to that research programme.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial engagement: Your appointment runs initially up to March 2027. Any continuation depends on project needs and your performance, so the first appointment does not cover the entire planned research period.
• Project period: The research programme is expected to continue up to February 2031. That is the project's anticipated duration, while your own engagement follows the separate appointment and extension conditions in the notice.
• Extension approval: Continued engagement needs the funding agency's necessary approvals. A project continuing beyond your initial term does not, by itself, guarantee that your appointment will be extended.
• Individual tenure: The notice places an overall limit of three years on an individual's engagement. Continuation within that limit depends on satisfactory performance, which the institute will assess.
• Temporary project work: This appointment gives you no claim to regular employment, absorption or re-employment with ICAR or IVRI. Keep that condition in mind when considering the role as part of your longer-term plans.
• Early termination: The institute may end the engagement if performance is unsatisfactory or the project finishes early. The Director also retains the authority to end the contract under the terms stated in the notice.
• Employment rules: ICAR's Young Professional guidelines govern the appointment. The Director's decision is final on matters covered by this recruitment, and the notice does not provide an appeal against contract termination.
• Travel and stay: You must make your own arrangements to attend. The institute will not provide travel allowance, daily allowance or official accommodation for the interview visit.
• Accuracy and conduct: Incorrect information or hidden facts can lead to cancellation at any stage. Canvassing also leads to disqualification, so keep your application accurate and let it speak for your work.
• Payment condition: Release of project pay depends on the principal investigator being satisfied with the work and on funding being available from the funding agency.
