IIT Indore Project Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) is hiring a Project Assistant in its Department of Chemistry for a research project funded by the institute's Agri-Hub. The project is building a portable kit for post-harvest management that uses photodynamic inactivation, a light-activated way of controlling microbes, as an alternative to traditional storage methods. A second goal is to create a new colourless photosensitizer for storing food, fruits and seeds. If you have an M.Sc in Chemistry and want hands-on research experience in agri-tech, this post is a good fit.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The first appointment runs for one year or until the project is completed. It can be extended until the project ends if your performance is satisfactory.
• Temporary post: The job is purely temporary and tied to the project, and you are expected to join immediately if selected.
• NET/GATE preference: Candidates who have qualified NET or GATE get preference, so put your score details in your CV.
• No extra benefits: Project staff do not get Bonus, Gratuity, LTC, DA or CCA, and the fellowship is taxable. Leave follows the project rules, with no leave encashment.
• Interview travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• No guaranteed call: Meeting the minimum qualification alone does not make you eligible for selection, and IIT Indore may cancel or not fill the post without giving a reason.
