IISER Tirupati is hiring 1 Research Associate-1 (RA-1) in the Department of Biology under Advertisement No. 39/2026. Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati Research Associate-1 Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, an autonomous institution of national importance under the Ministry of Education, is recruiting 1 Research Associate-1 on a contract basis. The position is for the research project "Root engineering by genome editing in rice for resource-efficient genotypes" under Principal Investigator Dr. Eswarayya Ramireddy. The research area is Plant Biology and Agricultural Biotechnology.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Ph.D. degree in any area of Life Sciences. Candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting the Ph.D. award can also apply.
• Research record: You should show evidence of high-quality research done during or after your Ph.D. program.
• Desirable: Experience in gene editing and Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation in rice is preferred.

The qualification must be from a recognised university or institution.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on the closing date of the advertisement.

Salary

• Rs. 58,000 per month + 9% HRA — if you produce the Ph.D. certificate.
• Rs. 42,000 per month + 9% HRA — if your Ph.D. degree is awaited (you must produce a letter confirming thesis submission with viva/defense pending).
• A nominal research grant is also available under this program.

Selection Process

Selection is through screening and interview (no written exam):

1. Application Screening: A Screening Committee reviews applications. If too many apply, the Project Leader may shortlist candidates whose qualifications and experience are above the minimum.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview. No TA/DA is paid for attending.

The selected candidate must join duty immediately after receiving the offer.
