The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and a Deemed University, has released advertisement number IIPS/ADMN./ADVT.01 (POP)/2026 for 2 Professor of Practice posts. This scheme brings experienced professionals and industry experts into academics so they can share real-world knowledge with students. IIPS is a leading centre for teaching and research in population sciences and has conducted major national surveys like NFHS, LASI and GATS. Accommodation will be provided as per institute norms.

Who Can Apply?

Professor of Practice (Survey Research):

• Qualification: Master's degree in Statistics, with significant contributions in Sampling Theory, Large Scale Survey Research and Data Analytics.
• Preferred: M.Phil or Ph.D., experience in curriculum design and teaching of sampling designs for M.Phil/Ph.D. students, and publications in survey research.

Professor of Practice (Data Science):

• Qualification: Master's degree in Statistics, Bio-Statistics, Demography, Computer Science, Data Science or Artificial Intelligence, along with recognised expertise as an industry professional in AI, Machine Learning or Data Science.
• Preferred: Ph.D. or Master's in AI/ML/Data Science, publications in the field, and experience running corporate training, workshops, hackathons or bootcamps.

Experience: For both posts, you must have at least 10 years of proven service or experience in your profession, preferably at a senior level.

Salary

• You will get a fixed honorarium of Rs. 1,50,000 per month for both posts.
• The appointment is for a tenure of one year.
• Accommodation will be provided as per institutional norms.

Selection Process

Selection is based on shortlisting and interview:

1. Shortlisting: Applications are screened based on qualification and experience. Simply meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee an interview call.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview before the selection committee. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
