Indian Institute of Management Raipur (IIM Raipur), located at Atal Nagar, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, is an Institute of National Importance established under the IIM Act, 2017 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Education. IIM Raipur has released Advertisement No. IIMR/Admn/Rec./AE(CIVIL)/2026-27/02 dated 12 April 2026 for filling 1 Group B, Non-Faculty post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) on a fixed-term contract of 3 years. The post is reserved for OBC (Other Backward Class) candidates. Civil engineers with experience in campus/building maintenance, construction supervision, and CPWD norms are encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• Degree: Bachelor's Degree (B.E. / B.Tech.) in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or Institute with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade.

Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience in civil construction, maintenance, and infrastructure management.
• Experience in centrally funded technical institutions such as IIMs, IITs, NITs, IISc, AIIMS, or institutions under the Ministry of Education is preferred.
• Experience in Central/State Government organisations, CPWD, Defence establishments, PSUs, or Autonomous Bodies will also be considered.
• Experience at a comparable level in reputed construction companies or corporate organisations may be considered in deserving cases.

Essential Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience in campus/building maintenance — seepage, structural cracks, waterproofing, drainage, and water supply issues.
• Civil construction supervision — contractor monitoring, quality checks, safety standards, and specification adherence.
• Preparation and scrutiny of estimates, Bill of Quantities, tender documents, and measurement books as per CPWD norms or equivalent standards.
• Plumbing and water supply systems including Water Treatment Plants, Sewage Treatment Plants, and associated civil infrastructure.
• Knowledge of CPWD Works Manual, CPWD Specifications, and GFR-2017 is essential.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software; ability to read and interpret engineering and structural drawings.
• Experience in preparation of Detailed Project Reports and project scheduling.

For Private Sector Candidates

• You must have last drawn a Cost to Company (CTC) of not less than Rs. 50,000 per month. You need to upload Form 16 from the most recent financial year as proof.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on the last date of receipt of applications (02 May 2026).
• Age Relaxation: Applicable as per Government of India rules for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and EWS candidates.

Salary

• Consolidated pay equivalent to the minimum of Pay Level 8 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• Basic Pay: Rs. 47,600 per month.
• Plus Dearness Allowance (DA) as applicable from time to time.
• Plus House Rent Allowance (HRA), Children's Education Allowance (CEA), Transport Allowance, and other admissible allowances as per the Institute's rules.
• Suitable pay protection in line with the last pay drawn may be offered to candidates coming from Government/Autonomous Institutes.

Selection Process

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the selection process. The stages are:

1. Application Screening: Applications will be reviewed for eligibility. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
2. Written Test / Skill Test / Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview or a written test or skill test, as decided by the Institute.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates must be produced at the time of interview.
4. Medical Fitness Certificate: The final appointment is subject to a medical fitness certificate from a Government Medical Officer at the time of joining.

Note: Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed to-and-fro II-AC Class railway fare by the shortest route, on production of proof of travel.

• Inspect civil infrastructure across the campus — academic blocks, hostels, administrative buildings, roads, drainage, and landscaping — and prepare deficiency reports with corrective action plans.
• Identify and supervise rectification of civil and plumbing deficiencies such as seepage, structural cracks, waterproofing failures, and drainage irregularities.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant, campus water supply network, and associated civil infrastructure.
• Supervise civil maintenance works including minor repairs, painting, flooring, tiling, and carpentry, ensuring timely completion within sanctioned estimates.
• Monitor Phase II campus construction — verify contractor progress, quality of materials, adherence to approved drawings, safety compliance, and measurement of completed works.
• Prepare, scrutinise, and process estimates, Bill of Quantities, tender documents, work orders, running bills, and final bills as per CPWD norms and GFR-2017.
• Maintain as-built drawings, site measurement books, inspection records, material test certificates, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with the Project Management Consultant, architects, structural consultants, and contractors for Phase II campus development.
• Liaise with statutory authorities — local bodies, fire department, and others — for building plan approvals, compliance, and occupancy certificates.
• Assist the Estate Department in identifying deficiencies, planning capital works, and preparing annual maintenance budgets.
