ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (ICAR-IVRI), Izatnagar, has invited candidates for a walk-in interview to fill one purely temporary Project Technical Support – III position under the ICMR-funded project titled "Protein-Based Point-of-care Test for Early Detection of Invasive Mucormycosis". Founded in 1889, ICAR-IVRI is one of Asia's oldest veterinary research institutes and works under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR); this project sits within its Veterinary Immunology Section. This is a project-based, temporary engagement — the post lasts only as long as the funded project runs. It suits candidates who already have hands-on research background in biotechnology, microbiology, or lab animal care and want to build experience in a premier government research institute.

The project focuses on developing a fast, low-cost point-of-care diagnostic test for invasive mucormycosis (commonly known as black fungus), a serious fungal infection that has become a growing health concern in India, especially among immunocompromised patients. As the Project Technical Support – III, you will work closely with the project team on protein-based assay development, sample handling, and laboratory testing at the Facility for Research and Training on Bioassays and Biosensors.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Three-year Graduate degree in Life Sciences with three years of post-qualification research experience (as per ICMR norms), OR a Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or Microbiology
• Preferred: Prior research work in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or Immunology
• Preferred: Experience in the care and handling of experimental lab animals

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit is 35 years, as per ICMR guidelines.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get emoluments of Rs. 28,000 per month.
• You will also get 20% House Rent Allowance (HRA) on top of the base pay, as per ICMR guidelines.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done through:

1. Document Verification: Bring your original certificates, age proof, and category proof for verification by the selection committee.
2. Walk-in Interview: A personal interview conducted on the scheduled date to assess your qualifications and research background.
