About This Opportunity

Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) is filling 254 positions for Multi Purpose Health Workers in the state's public health system. You will be working under the Additional Director of Public Health, providing essential healthcare services at the grassroots level across Gujarat. This is a Class-3 post with a 5-year probation period during which you will receive a fixed salary, after which you move to the regular government pay scale.

Selection Process

The entire selection is based on a single written examination worth 210 marks. It is an objective-type (MCQ) test conducted either on OMR sheets or as a computer-based test. You need to score at least 40% in each part separately to qualify for document verification. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer, so avoid random guessing.

Preparation Tips for GSSSB MPHW Exam

  1. Master Part B first — it carries 120 marks (the highest weightage) and covers your technical diploma subjects
  2. Cover Part A thoroughly — General Aptitude and GK section is worth 90 marks and cannot be ignored
  3. Focus on Maternal Health, Anatomy, and National Health Programmes — these are the core topics in the technical section
  4. Time management is critical — you get 3 hours for 210 questions, roughly 50 seconds per question
  5. Be careful with negative marking — if unsure, select the "Not Attempted" option to avoid losing 0.25 marks
  6. Practice previous GSSSB MPHW papers — they are available on the official GSSSB website
