About This Job
ACTREC, a unit of Tata Memorial Centre under the Department of Atomic Energy, is hiring a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a project at its Kharghar, Navi Mumbai campus. If you have an M.Sc in Life Science or Chemical Science with at least 3 years of relevant lab experience, you can attend the walk-in interview on 25 May 2026. The consolidated salary is Rs. 35,000 per month. The post is purely contractual for 4 months (extendable based on work progress).
ACTREC Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026
The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Kharghar, has released Advertisement No. ACTREC/ADVT-94/2026 dated 18 May 2026 inviting walk-in candidates for one JRF post on the project "Identification of the Mutational Landscape and its correlation with disease prognosis in PDAC patients in the Indian Population". There is no written exam — selection is based on the walk-in interview held on 25 May 2026. Candidates with hands-on experience in animal handling, molecular biology, and cell culture are best suited for this role.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: M.Sc in Life Science or Chemical Science from a recognised university. Two-year M.Sc programme only — one-year M.Sc degrees will not be considered.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in animal handling, molecular biology techniques, and cell culture handling is mandatory.
- Result-awaited candidates are not eligible. You must have completed your degree and be ready to join at the earliest.
Salary
- Consolidated salary: Rs. 35,000 per month
- This is a fixed monthly fellowship — no separate DA, HRA, or other allowances.
- Duration: 4 months initially, extendable based on satisfactory work progress.
Selection Process
Selection is through a single-stage walk-in interview:
- Walk-In Interview: Eligible candidates attend in person on 25 May 2026 at the Meeting Room-II, 3rd Floor, Khanolkar Shodhika, ACTREC, Kharghar.
- Document Verification: Original certificates, experience proof, and ID (preferably Aadhaar) are checked on the spot.
There is no written exam for this post. Final selection is purely interview-based.

Responsibilities
- Carry out molecular biology experiments on PDAC (pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma) patient samples
- Handle laboratory animals as per institutional ethics committee guidelines
- Perform cell culture work and maintain primary and established cell lines
- Identify and analyse mutational landscape data using standard bioinformatics tools
- Maintain detailed lab notebooks and contribute to research publications
- Assist the Principal Investigator with project reports and grant deliverables
- Follow biosafety and animal-handling protocols at all times
