GRID-INDIA Consultant (NPMC) Recruitment 2026

Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA), formerly known as POSOCO, has invited applications for the post of Consultant at the National Power Monitoring Centre (NPMC). This is a contract post under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The selected candidate will be posted at the Ministry of Power office in New Delhi.

GRID-INDIA is a Miniratna-I and Schedule 'A' Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE). It is responsible for integrated operation of the Indian power grid. The advertisement number for this recruitment is CC/25/2026.

Who Can Apply

You can apply if you meet all the conditions below:

• Qualification: Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline
• Experience: Minimum 20 years of post-qualification executive-level work experience in the power sector — this includes Load Despatch Centres, power generation, transmission, or distribution
• Age: Maximum 63 years as on 09 March 2026. You must also have at least 2 years of residual service before reaching the age of 65
• Nationality: Indian nationals only
• Language: Working knowledge of both English and Hindi is required
• Preference: Retired professionals from Government departments, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, or Statutory Bodies with an electrical engineering background are preferred

Salary

The selected candidate will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 1,68,000 per month. This is an all-inclusive amount. TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) will be deducted as applicable.

For official tours outside Delhi, you will get Travel Allowance (TA), Daily Allowance (DA), and Conveyance as per E-8 level rules. Medical test expenses up to Rs. 3,000 will also be reimbursed.

Contract Duration

• Initial contract: 6 months
• Can be extended by 6 months at a time, based on performance and requirement
• Working hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, 5 days a week. You may also be required to work on weekends and public holidays as needed

Posting Location

The selected Consultant will be posted at Ministry of Power, Shram Shakti Bhawan, Rafi Marg, New Delhi.

Selection Process

There is no written exam and no application fee for this post. The selection process has three steps:

3. Medical Fitness: You will need to submit a medical fitness certificate before joining

• Analyse operational data and provide inputs for decision-making
• Attend meetings and represent GRID-INDIA/NPMC as required by the Ministry
