Grid-India runs the country's National and Regional Load Despatch Centres, which keep the electricity grid stable and balanced across every state, and maintain overall grid discipline and market integrity. This is a top leadership post responsible for real-time power market operations, grid scheduling, and renewable energy integration, and the vacancy is expected to arise from 1 June 2027 as the current incumbent's tenure ends. Grid-India plays a critical role as India expands its renewable energy capacity — every unit of solar and wind power fed into the national grid has to be scheduled, balanced, and traded through the systems this Director's office oversees. • Eligibility: Serving officers from CPSEs, State PSEs, or Central/State Government holding an analogous senior managerial post, or with substantial experience in power sector operations — grid scheduling, market operations, or power trading — can apply.
• Nodal Officer Registration: Organisations sponsoring candidates must have a registered Nodal Officer with PESB; PESB will not accept offline applications routed by unregistered Nodal Officers for posts advertised on or after 1 August 2026.

Salary

• The selected candidate will get a pay scale of Rs. 1,80,000 to Rs. 3,40,000 per month (IDA scale), as applicable to Director-level posts in a Schedule A CPSE.

Selection Process

PESB follows its standard process for board-level appointments:

1. Screening: PESB shortlists eligible candidates based on qualification, experience, and vigilance/APAR records submitted through their sponsoring organisation.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear before the PESB for a personal interview to assess their suitability for the board-level role.
