ESIC Model Hospital, Gurugram has released Advertisement No. 04/2026 to engage a retired Ayurveda doctor on contract to serve patients in the Ayurveda department. This is a walk-in interview cum document verification drive — there is no separate written exam. Only retired officials of Central or State Government who were governed by the Old Pension Scheme can apply — this is not open to fresh graduates or private-sector Ayurveda doctors. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: A degree in Ayurveda from a recognized university, statutory state board/council, or Faculty of Indian Medicine (or equivalent under the Indian Central Council Act, 1970)
• Registration: You must be enrolled on the Central Register of Indian Medicine or a State Register of Indian Medicine
• Eligibility Category: Only retired officials of Central/State Government who were covered under the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) can apply — this post is not open to candidates who never worked in government service or who are under the New Pension Scheme

Age Limit

• You can be engaged on this contract up to the age of 70 years.
• Since this post is only for already-retired government officials, there is no separate minimum age — your eligibility is based on your retirement status, not a fixed starting age.

Salary

• This is a "No Work No Pay" engagement. Your remuneration is calculated as your last pay drawn at retirement minus your basic pension, as per DoE OM No. 03-25/2020-E.III-A dated 09/12/2020.
• You will get a fixed Transport Allowance for commuting, capped at Rs. 7,200 per month or the rate applicable at your time of retirement, whichever is lower.
• You are eligible for leave of 1.5 days per completed month of service, though leave cannot be carried forward beyond a calendar year.
• Non-practicing allowance is not admissible, and private practice is not permitted during the contract.

Application Fee

• General / All other categories: Rs. 300 (by demand draft in favour of "ESIC Fund Account No. 2", payable at Gurugram)
• SC / ST / PwD / Women candidates / Ex-Servicemen: No fee
• The fee, once paid, is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Selection Process

Your selection will be based on:

1. Document Verification: Bring all original certificates plus one set of self-attested photocopies for verification at the venue.
2. Walk-In Interview: You will be interviewed by the selection board on the spot on 25 August 2026.

You will also need to submit a security deposit of Rs. 10,000 via demand draft/bankers cheque if selected, and sign a contract agreement on a non-judicial stamp paper.

• Examine and treat patients using Ayurveda-based treatment protocols
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment history
• Coordinate with other hospital departments for patient referrals when required
• Follow ESIC hospital protocols, safety guidelines and administrative procedures
• Prescribe Ayurvedic medicines and monitor patient recovery
• Attend to outpatient department (OPD) duties as assigned by the Medical Superintendent
