ESIC Advocate Empanelment 2026 - Gujarat Region

The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is inviting applications from practising Advocates for empanelment to represent ESIC's Gujarat Region before the High Court, tribunals, and labour courts. If you hold an LLB degree and are enrolled with the Bar Council of India, you can apply offline by post. The last date to submit your application is 31 August 2026, 1:00 PM. Selected advocates will be empanelled with ESIC for a period of three years.

ESIC, a statutory body under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, is building a fresh panel of advocates to handle its legal work across Gujarat. This centralised panel, administered by the Regional Office, Ahmedabad, will represent ESIC before 28 courts and tribunals spread across the state, from the High Court of Gujarat down to district-level Labour Courts and E.I. Courts. Advocates already on the existing ESIC Gujarat panel must also apply afresh — the old panel will cease to exist once this new one is finalised, so continuity is not automatic. Both fresh applicants and existing panel advocates can apply, though each group uses a different application format.

This is a good opportunity for advocates with a strong litigation practice who want steady, recurring briefs for three years from a central government organisation. Since ESIC handles a large volume of insurance, labour, and service matters across Gujarat, empanelled advocates get regular case work throughout their tenure.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized university in India.
• Bar Enrolment: You must be enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India and be in active practice at the Bar.
• Experience: You need a minimum of 10 years of professional experience for Supreme Court, High Court, and CAT matters, or a minimum of 5 years for district-level courts and other forums.
• Supreme Court Matters: If you are applying for Supreme Court work, you should be an Advocate-on-Record wherever such empanelment is required.
• Professional Standing: You should have a sound professional reputation, good communication skills, and access to an accessible office/chamber with staff and communication facilities.

Advocates with a pending disciplinary case before the Bar Council, a criminal case involving moral turpitude, a record of suppressing material facts, an unsatisfactory past performance record with ESIC, or a conflict of interest with ESIC are not eligible for this empanelment.

Selection Process

ESIC will finalise the panel through the following steps:

1. Scrutiny of Application: The legal branch of ESIC's Regional Office, Ahmedabad screens every application along with the supporting documents you submit.
2. Shortlisting: The Selection Committee, constituted by the Regional Director, shortlists candidates based on their documents, professional profile, and past performance.
3. Interaction: The Selection Committee may call shortlisted applicants for an interaction before finalising the panel for each court or tribunal.

Empanelment does not create any right to claim legal work — ESIC reserves the right to reject any application, or to cancel/postpone the process, without assigning reasons.

How to Apply

1. Visit the ESIC website and download the application format — use Annexure-II if you are a fresh applicant not currently on the ESIC Gujarat panel, or Annexure-III if you are already empanelled and re-applying.
2. Fill in the application completely with your professional and personal details.
3. Attach copies of your Bar Council enrolment/registration certificate, Bar Association identity card, government ID proof and PAN, your CV with details of important cases handled, income tax returns for the last two financial years, two recent passport-size photographs, and a signed undertaking/declaration on conflict of interest.
4. Place the completed application and all documents in a closed envelope superscribed "Application for the Empanelment of Advocates for High Court of Gujarat or CAT or EI Court or Labour Court or NCLT in State of Gujarat."
5. Send the sealed envelope by post to the Regional Director, Employees' State Insurance Corporation, Regional Office, Panchdeep Bhawan, Ashram Road, Income Tax Circle, Ahmedabad - 380009 before the last date.

Applications received after the last date, or without the required documents, will be rejected at the scrutiny stage itself — so post your application well in advance.
