CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) is hiring project staff for the CSIR-funded MMP025303 RSSA mission on region-specific smart agricultural technologies for soil and plant health. The work is based at the branch laboratory in Srinagar or the field station at Bonera, Pulwama. This is a walk-in recruitment for temporary, project-linked roles rather than regular institute appointments.

The mission brings field agriculture together with sensors, geospatial tools, crop-health assessment and data-led farm advice. Your work may involve field experiments, crop and soil observations, plant-stress studies, remote sensing, image analysis or technical reporting. The roles suit researchers and engineers who are comfortable combining fieldwork with careful data handling in Jammu and Kashmir.

Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Project Associate: leads advanced research and development work across crop production, soil and water, plant physiology, precision agriculture, remote sensing, GIS, geo-informatics or AI and machine learning. The role also carries scientific coordination and reporting duties.
• Project Associate-II: supports field experimentation and technology validation through agricultural engineering or advanced agricultural, horticultural and plant-science expertise. Relevant prior research experience is part of this role's qualification route.
• Project Associate-I: assists with agricultural engineering or crop-science fieldwork, including sampling, sensor upkeep, data collection, documentation and report preparation.

Post-wise Duties

Senior Project Associate

You will guide field experiments and crop-health research, link sensor or imaging data with plant and disease observations, and help validate smart agricultural technologies. You may also develop standard procedures, prepare farm advisories and compile technical reports for the mission.

Project Associate-II

You will run field and crop measurements, support canopy, irrigation, fertilisation and stress studies, and work with remote-sensing or sensor datasets. You will document results, contribute to scientific outputs and help the team manage experimental records.

Project Associate-I

You will collect field and phenological samples, maintain sensors and data loggers, and record microclimate, crop-growth and disease information. You will also clean and organise data, keep working documents current and help compile reports.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: the engagement starts for one year or the remaining project period, whichever ends first, and may be extended or shortened according to project need, conduct and performance.
• Project term: the current project continues up to 31 March 2029, while an individual's total engagement across CSIR laboratories remains subject to the overall limit in the notice.
• Temporary status: the sponsored roles do not create a right to regular appointment or absorption in CSIR-IIIM or CSIR.
• Stipend condition: the applicable Project Associate rate depends on the national-examination category stated in the notice. HRA is payable only if institutional accommodation is not used or provided.
• Interview language: you may speak with the selection committee in English or Hindi.
• Document check: the institute will check original qualification, birth-date, category and relaxation records after selection or empanelment; discrepancies can cancel the result.
• Existing project staff: candidates currently engaged on a CSIR-IIIM project must obtain an office-issued No Objection Certificate before seeking another project position.
• Travel: no TA or DA is paid for attending the walk-in interview.
• Position availability: the institute may vary the openings according to project need or decide not to fill one or more roles.
