CSIR CFTRI Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI) is adding a Project Associate-II and Project Assistant-II to its CSIR Jigyasa project at Mysuru. Jigyasa connects researchers with school students, so these roles combine scientific knowledge with outreach, event support and field coordination rather than staying entirely inside a laboratory.

The project is identified as HCP-002601 and is designed around science communication for high-school learners. One role suits a postgraduate science candidate who can explain concepts and support programme delivery; the other is aimed at practical technical and field assistance. If you enjoy turning scientific ideas into activities that students can understand, the assignment offers direct exposure to both research-institute work and public engagement.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Project Associate-II: Works with high-school students, explains scientific concepts in clear language and helps the team conduct Jigyasa activities. The role draws on biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, food science, nutrition or microbiology.
  • Project Assistant-II: Provides technical and field support for project activities. A food science and nutrition background or a relevant technical diploma fits this hands-on role.

Post-wise Duties

Project Associate-II

You will interact with school students and project participants, turn scientific topics into understandable sessions, and coordinate with the CFTRI team while activities are being planned and delivered. Your prior research, development or science-communication work will help you handle questions accurately.

Project Assistant-II

You will support technical arrangements and field activities, keep materials ready and help the project team run events smoothly. The work may shift between preparation, on-site coordination and follow-up records depending on the programme schedule.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Project tenure: Engagement is initially available up to March 2027 and may continue only when the project, funds and institute requirement support an extension.
  • Overall CSIR cap: Your combined engagement as project staff across all CSIR laboratories cannot exceed six years. Anyone who has already completed that period cannot apply.
  • Temporary status: The appointment ends with the project or the applicable engagement limit and does not create a right to a regular CSIR-CFTRI post.
  • Current project staff: Applicants already working in CSIR or CSIR-CFTRI need a no-objection certificate from their current principal investigator. If selected, they must also provide a no-dues certificate and leave the earlier project before joining.
  • Academic result: Only qualifications with a declared result count. Final-semester or result-awaited applicants cannot use a pending qualification.
  • Shortlisting: CFTRI may use academic marks, higher qualifications, preferred experience or another suitable method to keep the interview group manageable.
  • Interview attendance: The interview is in person, and no TA or DA is payable.

  • Explain scientific concepts to high-school students in simple language
  • Assist with planning and conducting CSIR Jigyasa activities
  • Prepare technical materials and equipment for project events

  • Coordinate with researchers, schools and the project team
